All IM saying is, we have seen this quite a few times before. This fan base, and more importantly this owner, have shown a tendency to want the big move after a disappointing season. Expectations for 2021 were high, and the team flopped. Usually after a year of high expectations falls short is when we see this team double down on desperation... especially at the QB position.
Agreed however, I think the fan base expectation was higher than inside the building. Ron continues to preach moving forward because the organization was literally stuck in quick sand for decades under Snyder. I'm beginning to think RR's 5 year plan was to simply move the needle just a bit culture wise, roster wise and implementing his new organizational structure with the hopes of winning a few games to keep the fan base interested. Without a real QB, his plan most certainly revolves around his continued roster build until he finds a QB without over paying for some cast off or retread unfortunately one has not presented itself yet without over paying capital wise or draft wise.

With the team getting a new identity in 3 weeks keep an eye out for Dan to make some sort of big splash @ QB. You want someone buy a LOT of jerseys.

Is Dan even involved right now? Based on what we have seen this year only, this is Ron's show to run until it is not, am I not correct? Tonya certainly isn't pulling any QB strings is she? I firmly believe the QB decision will be ALL Ron's to employ and he gets an additional 3 years on top of his current contract to see HIS plan out with his QB decision.

I believe whatever is done is free agency and the draft will tell us where this staff is headed. Are they desperate to throw a rookie in at QB, or are they open to drafting BPA and taking a potential starting QB later in the draft. I believe anyone of these qbs could be effective starters "if" they don't play at all year 1 or 2. Lots of good qbs got a chance to sit first.

Tough spot to win immediately with the name change, but if we got 7 wins with the shape we were in, we have to progress right? Right?

I'm still on the Jimmy G train as I believe Lance has sat and next year is his time. This will effectively lower Jimmy G's asking price knowing Lance will be named starter. They did not draft him to sit 2 years. Kyle & Lynch's job rest on the success of Lance moving forward.

My plan: Trade for Jimmy G and draft a QB in this years draft where you see appropriate. If it is in the later rounds, so be it and Garrappolo can start for 2 years.

endless cycle that fans want every year instead of being patient and make the smart move as opposed to the desperate one

Powerball mentality.

Keep dropping resources on that ticket, instead of stashing that $100 a week into savings and making a power move when a real cant pass up deal is there for a price you can afford without mortgaging other areas.

Cause when that ticket actually hits.. boy its easy street from there

i would not give up any resources to get grap . he is injury prone and he will cost more then we need to give

I will also add he is under contract for only one year at a cap hit of 27 mil which is half our cap space . So you would give up draft picks and reduce our salary cap by half for a guy who is KC light

You don't really believe he isn't involved do you? Brian Mitchell thinks there is a good chance Dan is involved in picking a QB.

I believe RR to be a stronger man/voice than allowing that to happen. That would be my belief.

A 'bridge' vet and a rookie, thats what ive believed is most likely. Trubisky is as good a guess as any

factor in cost and injury issues, not sure that is the right 'bridge QB' to go to personally
