Yeah, I think he knew he was being dealt and this was his last game. They also made him a captain before kickoff.

That seems wrong to let him play if they knew they were trading him. In baseball they yank a guy out of the game when they're talking to other teams.

Eagles are all in on next years draft. This is an obvious tanking move. They are looking to get 3 picks in the top 10 (their own, dolphins and Colts).

I'm not sure what the Eagles top needs are but there is a lot of talent other than the QB in this upcoming draft.

Would have been pretty cool for Fantasy Football owners if could have played 2 games.

My guess is Ertz played because he wanted to play. He was made captain for the game and everything.

He handled his whole situation the right way, asking for a trade but not being an asshole like Ben Simmons, and the fans are totally supportive of the guy.

Smart trade for both teams, imo. The Cards get a reliable TE for a reasonable cost and Philly gets to stockpile more picks and gets an extra DB. Philly in full rebuild now.

I really think Philly wanted to trade him earlier, but it never happened, and so he showed up to camp and made the best of the situation. He played fairly well, though as a #2 TE behind Dallas Goeddert, and it looks like Philly lowered its demands and he got moved before the deadline.
