I agree with you. Gruden should have been saying his real feelings about Dumborris in public. He could have gotten a much better deal for the players.

It's all well documented and it happened when he was mucyounger. I know that if I got black-balled in my 50s for idiotic things that I did in my early 20s, I would be pretty pissed off.

I certainly think that's part of it. I think it could also be that he just doesn't interview very well, and people view the Chiefs' offensive success more of the product of Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes than Eric Bieniemy.

He has the respect of the Chiefs locker room, though. I suspect that he does have some red flags but will almost certainly be Andy Reid's successor if/when he steps down.

If you are white and do not understand in todays climate that the biggest thing that would destroy you is to get caught saying something racist especially about a black person or the black community. A few years back we saw the owner of the Clippers lose his whole ownership of the franchise for getting caught saying racist remarks. If you are a racist or even make jokingly remarks you better build an underground bunker, make it 7 floors deep, building a tent, and inside a sleeping bag with a night light say your racist jokes.

That is the world we live in today it is what it is that was dumb of him to put that on an email with his name all over it so he cant even deny the remark.

If it was just the one comment, he might have survived. Clearly he had no problem trashing all different types of people. Only a few of the emails have been released...there's no doubt that there are plenty more emails that the NFL could have released if the Raiders/Gruden had not taken appropriate action.

In the Times report, Gruden also reportedly said Goodell should not have encouraged Jeff Fisher, who was then coaching the Rams, to draft “queers,” which was a reference to Michael Sam, a gay player the team added in 2014.

The Times reported that Gruden also called for the firing of Eric Reid, who knelt during the playing of the national anthem, and used offensive language when referring to some NFL owners, coaches and journalists who report on the league.

Gruden exchanged emails with Allen and other men that contained photos of women who were only wearing bikini bottoms, according to the Times. One of the photos featured in an email reportedly showed two Washington Football Team cheerleaders.

The Times report came after The Wall Street Journal published an article last week detailing an email Gruden sent in 2011, in which he used a racial trope to describe NFL Players Association Executive Director DeMaurice Smith.

“Dumboriss Smith has lips the size of michellin tires,” Gruden wrote, according to the Journal.
