I think cle would happily take bledsoe and ibaka for love if lac really wanted love

I am sure they would.

Also highly doubt LAC would want that.

Well those are two guys who would probably play less for lac than love would.

But the second year on love’s deal is more the issue

Love can shoot 3's, unlike Drummond and Niang so there's that.

Niang can shoot the 3 ball. Been at 40% or more since joining Utah including. Made 124 threes last season on over 42% shooting

Love is not enough better than Niang or Drummond to justify a spot on the roster for the 6ers at $30 million.

Niang is a high quality role player. And since only 2 of Love, Harris, Embiid, Drummond, Niang can play at a time, it makes no sense for the 6ers to get Love.

The 4 and 5 positions are where they have their best players and their best depth.

You made a general comment saying Love can no longer play more than 15 minutes for his $30 mil.
I said he has no value to the Sixers. What you posted is a debate. There is no debate when it comes to his fit on the Sixers roster.

They will get annoyed talking about it every day but agree not as big a deal when Simmons wont be there.
Great point. BUT, It's not just the player himself. It's $30M that has to paid and hangs like a chain around the Sixers neck. The Cs dumped Kemba Walker and it cost them a 1st to do it. Sometimes a loss is really a gain. That could be true for Simmons as far as the Sixers are concerned. For any team, it's a risk. there's always the chance that the guy who was such a pain in the ass on your team, flourishes with his new team because the the new team is a perfect setting.

Big difference.

Kemba was a bad contract because his production wasn’t worth his salary.

Simmons is an asset that any team would want to have at his salary

The problem there is that opposing GMs recognize the bad spot Philly is in and aren’t willing to pay anywhere near market price to bail Philly out.

So Philly may be stuck taking 50 cents on the dollar or less unless they are willing to wait it out.

But they will not have to attach assets to Simmons to move him. They just might not get a return strong enough to replace what they lost.

No he didn’t.

It was very clear given the context that he was talking about Love’s potential role in Philly.
it wasn't. "Love can no longer play more than 15 minutes" is very far from saying only in Philly.

I can agree with a lot of this but Simmons can actually get some value while Walker could not.

agree....but "Love can no longer play more than 15 minutes" is not said as 76er specific, even in a discussion about Philly. If you meant Philly only it's "we wouldn't use Love for more than 15 minutes with our roster" especially since Love certainly COULD play more than 15 min.

This is what you do.

First, you take the quote out of context, then actually change the words to get closer to the what you want it mean.

It was very clear that the conversation was specifically about Love in Philly.

And since Love played 25 minutes a game last year, it would be incredibly stupid to say he is incapable of playing 15 minutes.

So stop fixating on the exact words used in a 6 word post. Take the man at his word for what he meant by the post and just move on.

Just not something he can do, context is foreign to him.

And in case there was any question, I clarified twice. And for the record, Love would only play the 7-8 minutes a night Niang will play to spell Tobias Harris.

Now, if you want to get a 3rd team like Portland involved you might have something.

Portland gets Love + a 1st from Cleveland
Philly gets Sexton + Covington + salary filler from Portland
Cleveland gets Simmons

Sexton + Covington would be an acceptable haul IMO

Portland would need to move more than that to fit love into the cap

Along the same lines you could turn love into say Gordon and augustin and love goes to hou with other disaster deals wi the 2 years left.

Augustine salary go Philly where he is a reasonable backup to maxey as well

Man, I would be underwhelmed if I the Sixers did a deal with Portland involved and they don’t get McCollum or Dame. I know Dame is a pipe dream but I already know Covington’s limitations. He is over rated as a defender. He’s a great help defender and plays passing lanes well. But he leaves much to be desired as an on the ball defender. He’s also an unreliable and streaky three point shooter. One night he’ll be 4-9 from deep and the next night he’ll be 2-11.
