Minny has been tied to literally every trade and contract this offseason. I have not seen a single move that did not have a follow up article of "Timberwolves had been interested".

As far as this one the overall trade, the thought is a third team is needed. Beasley and firsts to Philly. Third team to take Russell, and what ever that value is also to 6ers. Wolves get Simmons. I put it as likely as the other 85 moves they "explored"

Ben would almost certainly turn Sacto from a lottery team to a playoff team. Ben may be a liability in the playoffs but if you are Sactown, he offers you a great opportunity to elevate your team to a playoff team. While conventional wisdom is that you tank till you hit it big, the Kings have been pretty bad for a long while. I would imagine the ownership would be pretty thrilled with a 6 seed.

I'm also hearing rumors that the Cavs might be interested in getting Ben. No idea what they would offer but presumably one of Sexton/Garland and some other pieces.

Guessing would have been easier to get him if they still had Nance.

Yeah I think Nance would be an attractive piece for Philly…so I feel if they wanted Simmons that bad they would have waited. I guess they felt Mark was too good of a talent to not take the risk. The Cavs need shooting so Ben doesn’t exactly fit in that sense but they also need defense I think Simmons, Mobley and Allen could be a great defensive big man unit but depending on who they would give up like Sexton and Okoro they would have basically no shooting. If only Love was included and Philly wanted him it would help facilitate a trade but it doesn’t seem like anyone wants him to this point. So giving Sexton and Okoro probably isn’t a good move by the Cavs, not to mention they would have to give up future pick(s) and likely include a 3rd team in as well

If tries and pulls a Butler they will just suspend him.

Unless a team comes in and offers the Sixers something they find acceptable, which is unlikely, there just isn't an incentive for the Sixers to fold. And making these comments a public release makes a trade harder. The Sixers fan base is 100% behind the team which is completely because of Simmons recent antics.
