He might, it's a tough call between those "washed up" vets, as to who has more left in the tank.
If it's strictly just going by the most recent numbers, then it's easily Gurley and AP, they easily outproduced all the veterans being discussed. Freeman owns some very lackluster recent numbers, lower than Bells by far.
If it's an eye test..my eye test says Gurley...but common sense is that his knee will eventually make him a zero mid season, in which case my eye test says Bell, but Bell has his own issues. My eye test says Freeman is pretty much done, but I do think he'd make more sense than a Barber, Alf, Gore or McCoy. But that's just my eye test. Given that I did grab him in multiple leagues when he signed last year, I did pay some attention to him, but granted, I didn't exactly "study" him.
Lol how bad is it with Bell, we might ask? Well…

well if special teams availability is a must have with what they're looking for, then Bell ain't their guy. But makes me question, they knew that going in, why bring him in for a visit?
Yep… it’s not, because they brought him in to work out for the team. They brought in Gurley at some point in the off-season as well. Maybe they made an executive decision after seeing Bell that the best they’ll find out there is a young guy to chip in on ST?

ha, no joking he likely will. But its that Jones dude. And if they plan on getting Kamara more involved on the ground, he'll definitely be pressed into heavy duty at some point. Either way, I think Jones will get 8-10 carries a game as is. Hill is likely a goal line vulture.

I didn't know for sure Lat Murray was getting cut, but Saints in cap hell, they paid Kamara already, and if paying an RB1 big money is viewed as a bad strategy by most, paying a premium for your RB2 at the same time is just outright cap negligence.

Teams with actual cap space that could use him. Chargers- Be a nice combo with Ekler catching and Murray to pound the ball. Almost 13 million in cap space. Washington-Again a nice combo to go with Gibson IMO they could use a power back. 15 million in cap space. Titians-They already have a power back, but virtually nothing to back him up. 9 million in cap space.

Ravens already have power RBs but sure could use a pass catching type that would be useful on ST. Limited on cap space with a hair over 2 million. I don't see Murray signing with them.

weird to see him signed on as practice squad, but I guess they have someone they are trying to protect on current roster that will move to PS when Bell moves to the 53-man?

Treff will be disappointed. Bell isn't cutting into Gus the Bus workload from the practice squad.

yeah, Bell's going to be the passing down specialist, if/when he's fully healthy and able to make the roster.
it's just such a small role in the Ravens offense, can't wait to see the numbers behind this deal.

Bell is an amazing example of not overplaying your hand for future NFL'ers
