I think Philly should fine his ass for every day he doesn't come back, and then, once he comes back with his tail between his legs, make him have to make 75% of his FTs in front of the entire team before he can rejoin the roster.

Then they should trade him to Sacramento. Or Minnesota. Or Cleveland.

Fuck this fake superstar.

76ers were clearly trying to move him, but Morey was extreme in his ask price. Just like @Mebert said it forces this to play out quicker. Both parties wanted a split. Ben played terribly in the playoffs. 76ers threw him under the bus. It was all but official previous to this so not sure why anyone is shocked or upset at this point.

I agree, this suggests that there were offers from teams Simmons wanted to play for, and Philly balked. I do think their asking price is inflated, but this doesn't help. If I am Philly I basically do nothing now. Play the season without him if needed. Never give in to this kind of request.

Well yeah there is that, but you want to waste another prime season of Embiid to prove a point? If you can get someone back who gives the 76ers a real chance to compete for a title this year it's better than the alternative, IMO.

Yeah, that is the completely wrong approach.

You can use Simmons as the main piece in an offer to get a legit star who will fit with Embiid.

And you want the 6ers to call his bluff and sit him out?

If he isn’t invested in playing for Philly, there is nothing gained by playing hardball. Be patient with the deal and get something good, but by all means, they have to move him.

It's interesting that Simmons' agent doesn't think he can improve his value by playing, by the way.

I know Tlance is exactly right but my emotions are running hot right now.

I know they have to trade him, but for perhaps different reasons than some of you. I think they have to trade him because I think he is a fraud, and even though his value is dropping, I think they have to salvage what they can.

But I would be fine fining him and waiting to do that, if it means getting a better offer. You are never going to get a good offer now!

And as for the reports that his agent also wants Maxey traded, I say: Fuck Rich Paul. Hell no. Unless it is for Dame, you cannot trade Maxey and Simmons at the same time.

I'm curious to see how much further Clutch can push the envelope with this player empowerment stuff.

Tyrese Maxey is a 2nd year player. Using him as a pawn seems pretty crappy.

They shouldn't have fucked around with ridiculous trade requests. This is on both Ben and Philly.

Well sure.

However, if you want to get a legit star like Beal, you will have to include Maxey anyway.

So why not?

If the Sixers want to move him as part of the package that's one thing. Having the agent leak out that he wants Maxey to be part of the package that sends Simmons out the door, however, is something else entirely.

Philly fans knew this was coming, no surprise. They should be kissing his feet…he’s overrated. Lets also not act like we haven’t seen many players do the same.

That would be dumb. This does put them in an unfortunate position since he is demanding a trade now but you can’t let him sit the entire season. Like sushi said, you lose him or the talent you get for him this season. That is a waste of a season
