This is the type of response that is expected when someone wants to change the subject. Did you happen to note the Boldend "specifically" or what followed? Not even close to a Watson situation
insider trading is a dubious thingThis is the type of response that is expected when someone wants to change the subject. Did you happen to note the Boldend "specifically" or what followed?
There was no comparisons of the two situations, the subject is PR, and culture change. C'mon man!!
It's completely illegal. The court didn't wag a finger at him and say "bad, bad, bad!" he got one day in jail and two years probation for felony investment fraud. That 1.2 million that he got for giving "ii" to investors isn't "dubious."insider trading is a dubious thing
For those of you worried about trading for Mr. Watson specifically, with respect to bad PR, and the so-called (outward) "culture change." (bottom line is... if you can play and contribute, there's a place for you. Bad PR and/or envisioned culture changes be damned)
49ers sign Mychal Kendricks weeks after ex-Seahawks linebacker is sentenced for insider trading, per report
Three weeks after being sentenced to one day in jail and three years of probation for his 2018 guilty pl
Comparing r*pe to insider trading isn’t exactly a level comparison .It's completely illegal. This is so far beyond the point though. The point is as it relates to PR and culture change.
At some point Mr. Watson's situation will be resolved and he'll return to play. My personal belief is that there's going to be a settlement reached almost immediately after he's traded. It's a version of the James Harden trade me effort with the details already worked out. You're absolutely right BUT this matter is still unresolved, and it would be as successful as reaching for Haskins.
Of course, IMO.
A year later, i would be open to Watson.
Although the NFL is bullet proof, its still a bad look for us
Nobody's doing that except you, and MWAB. So, beyond what I was obviously writing about, and in order to give you both some satisfaction, how about comparing a felony with a felony. Level enough?Comparing r*pe to insider trading isn’t exactly a level comparison .

I agree that some people were furious with the Peterson signing, few of them were within my circle but that's a topic for another time. My question is... who cares?Sty, I'm sure you know people were furious when we first brought in Adrian Peterson for his excessive discipline, why wouldn't Watson be multiplied to the 3rd power, and if he doesn't win the nfc championship first year with what we give up, our media friends are ready to destroy

People are generally conditioned to move on to the next big story as they crop up and a Watson story no matter how big will also go away in the same manner that the Peterson story did. Peterson produced, and ultimately that is what people who followed the game cared about. Watson will produce, I don't think that anyone doubts that, and time will take care of the rest. Whether the team wins the NFC title or not is solely dependent upon Ron Rivera and his coaching staff putting this team in the best position to win enough games with him to do so.
The media is the media, they live by the trope..."If it bleeds, it leads," and as such renders a story like this secondary to anything that they can sensationalize better. An NFL team cannot be destroyed by such a story. ( Houston is still a viable NFL team correct?) Just remember this aphorism my friend...["That which does not destroy] you, makes you stronger."__ Friedrich Nietzsche
How do you know this? Pure speculation? How do you know with any degree of certainty that any of it is true?Watson has an addiction issue. It is something to worry about. These things won’t just go away.
Then let it play out without jumping to conclusions.
You may be right about this defense if you see them as being comparable to the 2000, 2012 Ravens or the '85 Bears. I just don't see those comps. The game has changed and you're going to need some sort of offense to win against this very tough schedule. To illustrate what I'm referring to I've made this graph based on 2020 results.Sty, I believe we may not need Watson, not because he isn't elite -- but because our defense should be able to carry us this year and beyond.
I know that's speculation BUT so is thinking Watson is the missing piece to a 4th championship.
you're absolutely right about the NFL living the worry free life for its employees that may be or are found guilty of crimes
BTW: while preparing my response I was reminded of Ray Lewis, who pleaded guilty of obstruction of justice in a case, in which he was originally ACCUSED, of being involved in taking 2 lives. (What followed was the NFL's defensive MVP and a SB win. Just sayin')you're absolutely right about the NFL living the worry free life for its employees that may be or are found guilty of crimes
