Thought I'd get this bad boy rolling a little early. HUGE series coming up. We need to avenge that whompin' Houston laid on us in their yard. There's really no way to sugarcoat it, a 4 game sweep with a collective run total of 27-7....now that's a flat out beating by any measure.

There has been no announcement of who in the rotation the Sox are going to march out, whereas the Astros are slating McCullers Jr, Odorizzi, and Valdez for their starts.

My guess is being that Rodon didn't make an appearance in the AS game, he'll get the nod for game 1. Lynn would make sense for game 2 (he only pitched an inning, so he's hardly gassed), followed by Keuchel, altho it wouldn't surprise me if TLR decided at this point to rearrange the rotation and have Gio start the 3rd game. In any event, let's go Sox and make payback a bitch for the 'Stros!!

Well...That's a more recent thing because of their cheating sh*t. I don't recall being like "YO F*CK THIS TEAM AND FRANCHISE FOREVER IN ITS ASS" when we played them in the World Series like it would be with Cubs or Packers or something like that. I really enjoyed watching Biggio/Bagwell/Killer B's Astros back in the day.

Bagwell in particular since he shared a birthday with the Big Hurt.

I'm just glad I didn't have a heart attack/stroke in the timeh between Konerko and Podsednik's dongs in the famous game 2. I will never forget that. I'm going bazooka hootin' and hollerin' and waking up my poor wife cuz it was pretty late and she was tired (then fiancee...I'll give her credit too, she took it in stride and was happy for us). My old man was one couch over and he got up and paced the room for a good 10 minutes after Konerko's bomb because he couldn't contain his excitement...LOL. No matter what happens...That series is always ours.

I mean, in this sport? That stuff is nonsense and not worth listening to. Historically, time and time again, there is zero correlation between beating playoff teams in the regular season and beating them in the postseason. Consistently, you will see teams get totally dominated by one team April-September and then beat them in October.

I would say us being 54-35 and 8 games up given our absurd amount of injuries sustained is MORE than enough to establish as being serious WS contenders.

I just don't view any series right now as being "huge". Just keep stacking wins and keep Cleveland at an arms length while we get healthy. I will be happy.

My dad was 52 or something at the time. I was at the game with him sitting in RF. I never saw him literally act like a little kid before. We was about 6'3 290-300 pounds at the time. Yet, he jumped up and down like a little school kid, with his face beat red smiling/screaming. I can still see the image in my head. We were also at the NFC Title game for the Bears/Saints a year later. He passed shortly after that. You could argue those two days are in the conversation for best and happiest of my life. Not because of the wins by Bears/Sox... but because of the time spent bonding so closely with him before I didn't get to do so anymore.

I understand TLR called the team together for a workout yesterday (all-stars optional). I think he wants them to focus on a one game at a time approach.

Good to hear this, but I'm a little bummed that TLR is sending Cease out for the opener. Who knows, maybe he'll catch fire and smoke them bastahds. I just wouldn't place any coinage on it.

We ARE trying to scam somebody into Lopez...LOL. I guess we can risk throwing a game or two for the possibility. But I highly doubt anyone is duped.

Pitching is not the problem with this team, they are not strong offensively. Really need Eloy and Robert back in there. And maybe a 2B who can hit (Story?)

Not gonna win much when you score only 1 run.
