So Steph has 4 seasons of hitting 300 three's. The rest of the league combined has one.

Hey jackass, I mean @WiggyRuss , you still insisting that the greatest shooter in league history is one of the most overrated MVP's of all time? Did I call you a jackass? Just making sure.
He's also 4th all time in attempts at only age 32. 2nd among active players (Harden). I think we can give Harden credit for 2 300 seasons (his second was 299) and he's a year younger. Steph will catch Ray Allen for most 3 pointers made next season.

Steph still has to catch his coach and his brother for 3% though (and Hubert Davis, Drazen Petrovic).

7 plays 8 and 9 plays 10, 1 game each. Loser of 7/8 plays winner of 9/10 for the right to be the 8th seed and play the 1 seed in the first round. Things can still shuffle around a bit in both conferences, as 5-7 is close in both, as is 8-10.

Still hate this concept. A team plays 72 games to make the top 8, but still has to play 1 or 2 more to play teams that couldn't make the top 8 after 72.
It's awesome. Those 7 and 8 seeds aren't going anywhere in the playoffs so who cares if they get knocked out?

And it's not like the 7&8 are way ahead after 72. It's gonna be a game or two difference between all of them. In both conferences the 7-10 teams are all about the same level

I still disagree. Green may score 6.7 ppg in his 31.2 mpg, but he also generates at least 17.4 ppg from his 8.7 apg. Thybulle's 1 apg leaves him miles behind Green.

I said that Green was a better offensive player than Thybulle. Thybulle is a close to zero when it comes to offensive contribution. Which is why he is a role player. His nearly 5 blocks+steals per 36 is the reason why he is on the court.

Allen revolutionized the game when it comes to 3's, but Steph changed it as far as distance and volume.

But you also implied he wasn't better by much. That assist production puts him several levels above Thybulle offensively. Dray is 5th in the league in assists, 2nd to only Russ in assists per 36. That makes him much better than average offensively.

I just like watching Steph play. The greats make it look so easy. He's changed the game like few others have. But I can't give Harden credit for hitting 300 three's when he hit 299. Close, but not 300.

And Drazen, there's a name from the past. Helluva shooter. He passed away too young.

The 300 season is just picking a round number, it's a meaningless threshold.

Y’all are correct about the Knicks

I don’t see them getting out of round one regardless of who they play...

but, I would never count them out if they are healthy..

they did not fizz out at years end like most thought .. as a matter of fact they got better . Yes PS is a different beast, but teams had lots of injuries, who knows if they can gel as a team in round 1. Knicks just might catch them at right time.

yes , Randle is their offense, but they have players that can pick up pieces, and youngin with lotsa poise, IQ.

wow, I have completely forgot about Robinson, who will help on defensive end tremendously. If..

either way , it should be fun.

Petrovic was more of a mid range guy, he only made 1.2 and attempted 2.7 3's a game.

Great player though. Just 4 pro seasons in the NBA.

The 300 season is just picking a round number, it's a meaningless threshold.

But Harden doesn't have multiple seasons with 300 three's. You wanna give him credit for something he didn't do. Yeah it's the smallest of margins. But it's not 300.

That would be like saying Barry Sanders averaged 100 yards per game on the ground. He was damn close, 99.8 yards per game. But getting 15,269 yards in 153 games isn't averaging 100.

If you look at the combined most 3PTA for Steph and Harden in a season they would be:

1) Harden - 1,028
2) Steph - 886
3) Harden - 843
4) Steph - 810
5) Steph - 789
5) Harden - 756

Top 3 seasons for Harden = 2,627
Top 3 seasons for Steph = 2,458

In those combined seasons Steph has 1,080 Makes (43.9%). Harden has 939(35.7%).

Steph made 141 more 3's in 169 less shots.

100 yard games is an established marker. 300 3s is not, as it's only 2 players that have done so, all in recent years.

Where would you put the odds on either team being healthy though? Watching last night's Lakers game (with Lebron out again after 2 games back) and AD getting his lower leg stretched and massaged on the sidelines is not exactly what I want to see. For the Nets, who knows when Harden returns, and if he does how healthy he will be...

Disagree about Russ and that’s evident in his playoff appearances post KD. And hard to say about Beal as he hasn’t performed much in the playoffs.
You can’t go off anything in the past with Russ, he is a different animal right now and is showing everyone what he could have been. Never has been a player like him and I doubt we ever see it again.
