I just miss judged his weight, and not one top 100 list had him anywhere near where we drafted him. The 3rd round could be renamed to Reach Round.
1st off for all those about to tell me I dont know what I am talking about.
I freely admit I dont. Not a big follower of college, but I still get an opinion. :)
1st three rounds have not left me all warm & fuzzy, like past drafts.
Felt like how we drafted in these 1st three rounds was gonna dictate how well this draft went.

1st round- Think most of us were thinking Horn or Surtain, well that fell through. So it looked like Slater. Now I have seen one mock draft where we picked Parsons. (kudos to that guy). When we picked him wasnt a huge surprise to me. I like the possibilities. I am not a fan of picking LBs in the 1st, but like I told fordman when talking him off the ledge. If Parsons can be a Pat willis or better. I like this pick. Sounds like some behavioral risks, but I liked how he sounded in his press conference. kind of humble not so arrogant as I was expecting I guess. Then trading back from 10 to 12 to get parsons adding a 3rd. Give this pick :thumb:

2nd round - after us missing both Corners in the 1st round & a bunch coming off the board in the 1st. I was worried we were gonna reach & just draft a CB no matter where he was graded. It sounds like that is what we did. So not so happy with how we drafted this corner. Cowboys tried to package a deal to move to 34 for Tyson Campbell, but when the jags took him, that move died. So like I said. I believe we were gonna draft a CB no matter what. Which I dont like chasing positions in a draft (1-3rd rounds at at least) Sounded like this guy was gonna go in the 3rd & we took in the 2nd. Dont believe he will be a starter at beginning of the season. Hopefully he can by end of season. But this man does get turnovers & I would be a fan of this defense finally getting turnovers. So after this pick I kept my high hopes hat on. (not happy, but not upset)

3rd round - We take a DT with the 75th. I really wanted a DT in the 1st three rounds. The man played NT in UCLA's 3-4 so I felt good about him playing next to gallimore this coming year. When he gets into the starting lineup I dont know, but love this pick! :thumb: (btw I love building the trenches from inside out)

Now before I continue, let it be known I like many others really would have loved to use the other two 3rds to move up for a guy the cowboys loved (no dont know who that would have been) but they just stayed in place.

pick 84 picked Golston DE. Now I am gonna be completely unfair here. I dont know the player I just know the Cowboys draft tendencies. When we spitball a mid round DE they seem to be good enough to stay on a roster, but never ends up anything special. Everyone waits around for the potential to come out wasting years, meanwhile drafting more DEs (or picking them up) because this guy cant handle winning the starting job out right. We all will brag about our depth & potential, until we finally move on. We can have an army of so-so DEs on the roster. if they cant make a difference, so what! This is all I am envisioning with this pick. Moreso because of the Cowboys not the player. Now Jarntt has tried to pump me up for this pick but my PTSD on this is too strong. This pick gets a

pick 99 Wright CB. Completely feel yet another reach. Great! We drafted a paper weight. Now if this paper weight has Deion Sanders Skills Awesome. Short of that, :wtf2: This pick gets :thumbsdown:

Now typically when I dont understand some picks I fall into a "in McClay we trust" mode.
but this draft dont feel like a McClay ran draft. Now I dont know if it is because of covid & not being able to get to players, but feel like we could have done better.

Now if we get lucky & land some good players in the final day of the draft I can still end up liking this draft.
but right now. Meh!

& yes. I look forward to eating some crow from this when they all end up kicking ass! Still wish we combined 84 & 99 & drafted someone else.

WR Fehoko Stanford. Big kid and good speed. Not a FT starter though. That's what I hated about Trystan Hill

Next pick my guy Hufanga to SF. But with both Cox and Neal tough to find a spot for him any way. All 3 looking at that rover in the middle of the nickel

At this point you are just drafting best player and not looking for starter pretty much, right?
Assume we lose Cooper or Gallup after this year. So need a #3 to battle with Wilson and maybe drops Noah Brown off the team this year. Also supposed to be good ST player from what I heard

They just will never get it about the critical need of the safety position in my lifetime.

I wasn't too high on Ar'darius Washington earlier but I'd love him here. Knowing the Cowboys don't you think they will take a safety now just so they can say they took one and think that will appease the criticism about ignoring it again

Right, I think he's a gunner.
I like the way he can contort his body to the ball in the air. I think Gallup's job is up for grabs with Simi.

I like the 1st 3 picks. Yes I wasn't happy with, Odighizuwa at first but after I read up on him I see him collapsing the pocket on passing downs forcing the QB to throw the ball away or force him into the DE's arms. He's a pass rushing DT, built like Aaron Donald. No I'm in no way saying he's Donald, and I admit I was completely wrong on how good Donald would be, but if Odighizuwa, can collapse the pocket maybe the D gets off the field on 3rd down more often.

he is my 2nd favorite pick honestly.
