“Jeter sucks....intangibles.....statue at SS”
It’s probable that Jeter, himself, was juicing. Especially considering the way he came back after that awful ankle injury(which should have been a career-ender). Given the culture of that team and the cast of characters that were there, this is a fair assumption, right? If not, he would have been just about the only guy that was clean on the roster. Look at his teammates that were implicated: Clemens, Pettitte, Melky, Cano, Giambi, Arod, Cervelli, Sheffield, Knoblauch...and probably several others that I am forgetting. Am I on the right track here?

A-Rod was clean. It was the perfect frame job by Kevin Millar to make the news forget about Big Papi.

I thought Posada was a juicer

I never suspected Jeter. At some point the peaks and valleys of a career stand out as suspicious and they never did with Jeter, he didn’t just pop 45 home runs out of nowhere one season

and I think he consistently maintained the build of my 14 year old daughter his whole career

Oh yeah. I forgot Posada! He was another one who took a sudden, quantum leap forward(at age 29) to became an instant all-star.

I don’t suspect Jeter for his entire career, btw. Just that miraculous comeback after the brutal leg injury. That should have been a career-ended It wasn’t as obvious as the Peyton Manning super-human seasons after he broke his neck, but neither pass the smell test.

Yankees get a little more than 10K in the stadium
“Per MLB and the MLBPA: 14,845 COVID tests conducted over the last week, with 1 new positive test (a player).”

Can we end this nonsense and go back to normal, please?

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he didn't become the full time catcher until he was 29.

:noidea:

Ok. Let me rephrase:

Posada from 1995-1999: .426 SLG & .771 OPS
Posada in 2000: .527 SLG & .943(!) OPS

I guess being named the full-time catcher miraculously transformed him into a superstar slugger overnight. <insert shrugging Pac-Man emoji>

For Steel:

Posada from 1997-1999: .431 SLG & .77OPS
Posada in 2000: .527 SLG & .943(!) OPS

Better?

@nynasty Any thoughts? Quite a quantum leap forward for a 29 year old, yes?

As I said, he was playing everyday for the first time in his career in his 29th year, but he had shown flashes he was capable of that season prior to that. He was a terrible catcher, but always had a super quick bat from both sides of the plate.

And his name didn't pop up on the 2003 survey test.

Just saying.
