I don't understand the rush to trade Wilson when he is under contract all the way until the end of the 2023 season. Pettiness runs both ways I would be down to trade him to Jacksonville to draft Trevor Lawrence or to Houston in a swap with Watson hell even the Jets in a package deal involving the 2nd overall pick but obviously Wilson would exercise his no trade clause.

I really hate the whole "I want to be traded but trade me to specific teams so I can win" notion is bullshit. I hated it when James Harden cried his way out of Houston. I would tell Wilson he isn't going anywhere and for damn sure we aren't trading you to a specific team where the return wouldn't be that good. What can NO, CHI, LAV, or Dallas really give the Hawks in return for Wilson. I don't want 3 or 4 first round picks that are in the back end of the first round. If we are not in a position to draft a QB in the top 5 then no package can work.

So you would rather Trevor Lawnrence or Justin Fields and the hope that they might be good instead of a guy who has won more games than any QB in his first 9 seasons? Or trade him for a QB who has missed a ton of game due to injuries?

No thanks.

I was listening to Brock and Salk and Salk was talking about he was calling for the Patriots to tread Tom Brady in 2008. He had all sorts of justifications for it.

Not sure I'd want Trevor Lawrence. I'd go Zack Wilson first and Justin Fields second. Wouldn't mind rolling the dice on either one.
Does he still have the most wins in his first 9 seasons if you count playoffs?

Russ is 9-7 in the playoffs. Not bad at all but the bulk of that came in 2013 and 2014 when he went 5-1. In the last six years he is 3-5 and seems more interested in his Hollywood friends and commercial endorsements than he is in his football team.

I knew the day he hooked up with Ciara that this day would come, I just expected it to happen sooner.

It seems that a lot of Seahawks fans have become so accustomed to winning and being in the playoffs that they think that the baseline going forward is 9 wins. It isn't. Are you willing to roll the dice if it means a 15% chance of winning another Super Bowl but a 70% of being a perennial non-playoff team?

Would you rather be the bucs or the packers? Would you rather have 2 superbowls or 1?

Just a hypothetical

Its still a year away. After next year he will have 1 year left on his contract and we will have our 2023 first rounder presumably. At that point it would not shock me if he got traded.

And I don't think it is money nor his disagreement with how the offense is run nor the ability of the OL to protect him.

Disagree vehemently. He's clear that he was sick of being a tackling dummy behind no talent linemen.

They're not listening to him, they aren't doing anything more to protect him, and he's had enough of the rah-rah Coach Carroll bullshit.

Would I rather win the Super Bowl or lose in the NFC championship? Is that a real question? Why would anyone pick the Packers?

The chance at a SB win is more like 5%, and that is including whatever moves they make this off season. ]

The packers have consistent winning seasons but 1 sb and numerous nfccg losses, while the bucs have bookend superbowls with mediocrity in between. Which would you rather be?

We are not even at the packers level right now, our chance at a sb is about 1%.

Something big has to change to get us over the hump. Im not saying trade wilson but the status quo is taking us exactly nowhere

The Seahawks are still on of the 6 or 7 best teams in the NFL. Taking the next step to being a Super Bowl team doesn't require an entire rebuild. It requires a mix of players developing into their best versions, one or two smart FA moves and getting a little lucky in the draft.

IMO, the Seahawks last offseason tried to show that you didn't need to invest big on the OL or DL. That proved to be a really bad plan. They got luck that Carlos Dunlap became available and they could get him and he helped a lot.

Honestly, I think that Russ looked at the Bucs team and that was what got him upset. How did they win a Super Bowl? Great QB, excellent WRs, DOMINANT offensive and defensive lines.

We have a great QB. We have excellent WRs. But our lines are mediocre. The Hawks should do whatever they can to remedy that.

Wilson will be a Seahawks this season. If he gets beat up and the team doesn't play in the NFC Title game then it will be different in 2022,

What we need is very simple. We need a better offensive and defensive line. It is up to Schneider and Carroll to make that happen.

Cowherd talking Wilson as a Raider, hmmmm?

Carr to the NFC, Wilson to the AFC.

This is just fodder for talking heads. Nothing going on with football so this gives them something to talk about.

I agree, as I mentioned above seriously doubt Wilson is going anywhere in 2021.

BUT.......Cowherd did make a lot of sense, which is hit and miss with him. He also mentioned the Saints.

Wilson has what 6ish years left?

There is no argument that makes sense for the Seahawks to trade Wilson.

I totaly agree and why I seriously doubt anything comes of this THIS coming season.

Hell, if I were Wilson I'd see what I could do to help keep Carson.

Well his message has primarily been that he wants to see some improvements on the OL.

The running game puts a QB in third and two, now that D has to think run? pass? Third anf long because ya can't run, here they come.

Need Carson.

Well we need an effective running game. Not sure how much we should spend on Carson given how much time he spends on the injury report.

You realize that the Packers have won multiple Super Bowls, right?

Not in this millenium

The Bucs got lucky in that a Hall of Fame QB dropped in their lap. Counting on that happening is like buying a lottery ticket as your retirement strategy.

If they were in our situation there wouldnt be a tom brady dropping in their lap. They were able to build a strong team because they werent paying their qb 20% of the cap and drafting at the bottom of every round for a decade.

Its just a hypothetical.

What we need is very simple. We need a better offensive and defensive line. It is up to Schneider and Carroll to make that happen.

Thats been the case for the past 12 years, and they have proven time and again they cannot build an OL. They are proving now they cant build a DL either.

In retrospect, trading clark was a huge mistake.
