I'm not so sure the Eagles threw the game. I just think their head coach and team are this bad and now next year the cap problems begin.

I think It's glorious

how i met your mother awww GIF
This is really the story. In 2021, the Eagles are going to likely be on a level with this years Jags and Jets and if Lurie doesn't wake up and dump Roseman and Pederson, they won't get any better. They need wholesale changes and Roseman has basically fucked them cap wise for the forseeable future.

This.

Hurts was 7 of 20 for 72 yards and threw an INT. He ran for 2 TD's but he wasn't throwing the ball well at all.
And like I said elsewhere. The Redskins adjusted the second half to the eagles trying to use a rob as a qb. Hurts was doing nothing. Hell his defense got him the ball in the red zone and he couldn’t make it work. Doug knew only chance he had of winning was having a qb that would actually make some consistent throws down field, a rb just isn’t going to do that against this defense.

If he turned to Wentz, I’d buy it

I respect that Washington defense, but Hurts by a mile still gave them their best shot over Sudfeld, that was apparent right away, that was a QB that didn’t belong on a football field

It’s like you completely ignored the post you responded to

Technically I guess I did. After I stopped reading after your first line.. I was agreeing with your in the fact that the Giants shouldn't complain and I wasn't trying to say you were saying otherwise

Of course he did. LMFAO at anyone trying to label the switch to be anything other than trying to lose the game.

I have seen nothing from Hurts that indicates he has a future as a starting QB in the NFL. Same applies to Sudfield. Did it really matter who took the snaps? Eagles need a total rebuild.

Pederson responds to report that Wentz wants out

On Sunday night, Pederson was asked specifically about his relationship with Wentz.

“I don’t understand, again, where these are coming from,” Pederson said. “My relationship with Carson has been good. It’s been professional. We’ve communicated over the last month of the season. Listen, I know he’s frustrated. He was the starter and I get that. And that’s understandable. I have so much confidence in him and myself that we can work on the things we need to work on and get it done.”

There's a spot in the League for Hurts.....probably not as a starter (kind of early, small sample size) but as a Taysom Hill type? Definitely.

You probably missed the Cards game.

24 of 44 for 338 yards and 3 TD's.

He also played well in the win over the Saints.

yes
One is miles better than the other

and I still agree Hurts may not be a starting QB

that’s how bad Sudfeld is

...Mara's role in that salary cap penalty for contracts in an uncapped year that had been approved by the league has not been forgotten in Washington and it never will be. So now they are stuck with Daniel Jones, good luck with that.
The league was absolutely right to penalise Washington and Dallas for what they did. All NFL teams were told by personal email from Commissioner Goodell what they specifically could and couldn't do. Washington decided to do it anyway with Haynesworth's contract and Dallas responded with Austin's extension. Both teams were penalised less than the amount their transgressions gained them so both made out like bandits. Frankly bringing this up now as a response for what happened in a regular season game 10 years later is ridiculous.

I think football wise, the QB was largely irrelevant. Hurts is better than Sudfeld. Hurts gives them a running game big improvement but whatever passing. The real issue here isn't winning the game or the Giants or fuck all else. To me, the only issue here is Doug Pederson basically slapping his veteran players faces. I can't see how the leaders on this team can have any respect for Pederson going forward. I have a feeling Pederson either gets the axe or quits but maybe if Lurie doesn't can him, he stays because I doubt any other team would hire him. This entire thing starts and ends with Doug P.

do you think Hill becomes the starting QB for the Saints when Brees leaves? I think not, nor do I think the Eagles believe Hurts will either, time will tell

Some of these coaches are high on their own supply. Last night with the Eagles might be an example of that more than of a "tanking."

You see it all the time. Once the tape gets out on these guys it’s a different story.
