How long does Philly stick with Wentz before going back to Hurts?

Won't matter. Hurts has looked just as shitty when he's been in. Wentz is done. That ACL tear didn't just fuck up his knee, but it fucked up his brain. Hasn't been the same mentally or physically since.

Kinda a weird comment. He’s thrown two passes. They bring him in to run and everyone knows it. So obviously the explosiveness of those plays hve dropped. But he has barely played, much less thrown.

Those plays haven't worked when he been in for the most part. I understand it's a package. My problem is that if any other starting QB was playing as shitty as Wentz has played and a team invested a 2nd round pick on a QB the 2nd round pick should be playing more if not starting. I'm guessing he's not looking good in practice either.

Right. I agree with the sentiment. But they hitched their wagon to wentz....he’s paid too much to go there... they screwed the pooch

Yeah pretty much. The worst part is they didn't even have to make a deal. They could have picked up his option for this season, then let it ride with him. Now we're stuck with him for the next 4/5 years or whatever it is after this season.

Don’t you have an out after next year?

I don't know. Looks like we could cut him in the summer of 2022 with the least amount of damage. So not as bad as I originally thought.

yeah ThTs what I thought.

The bad part is. You guys didn’t take a discount. Dudes been hurt a lot. And his best year you were stacked. U paid him like he was the player he was in his second year. You banked he went back there.

It’s a very crappy position to be in.

I read an article the insinuated that no matter what Doug will stick with Carson. One because Reid did that when Doug was qb, and he did it with Mahomes as wel. Two the contract Carson has.

Also insinuated that’s why hurts hasn’t been available to the media since like july

Bad situation for sure. In for a long rebuild and already have serious cap issues. Not gonna be bad enough to pick high and find his replacement and doubt they could afford a decent vet and seems almost impossible with the hit they can move on from Wentz for at least a couple years.

Wentz didn't help but at least ya got a SB out of it.

At this rate, I'm going to guess we lose out. We might be able to sneak into the top 5 at that point. IMO, I think there are 3 QB's who are worthy of a top 5 pick with Lawrence, Fields and Wilson. Hell even Lance is a top 10 pick. This is a good year to need a QB. I don't think Hurts is a long term answer.

We're stuck with Wentz for at least 2 more seasons, if we even do cut him after that.

At least Wentz balled out in 2017 and landed us home field in the playoffs. I don't think we make/win the SB without that.

Kind of liken it to how I feel about the Cavs (demise happened through no fault of their own, though). sure, I wanted more titles....but got one I never thought I'd see.

Eagles have been a really good franchise under Lurie's ownership. We've been really close before Wentz arrived. We haven't really been dependent upon one particular player like the Cavs have been. I'm not sure I'd trust Gilbert to not fuck something up.

Not really sure I've seen him fuck anything up yet despite what many might say. Lebron was leaving both times no matter what we did. Kyrie a nut. I guess hiring Beilein a mistake but not like they were going anywhere.

Guy has an extreme will to win. For the most part lets FO do their job. If he is hesitant it's because there have been times he was right about players (Izzo told him he needs to get Draymond Green, for instance, and he's said to have wanted Oladipo and Griffin pounded the table for bennett) and let FO make the call. guy set a payroll record for the sport in a small-midmarket city. all I can ask for in an owner.

FYI, most title winning teams in NBA depend on one particular player.

Sure most teams rely on 1/2 players to win a title, but the Cavs have little track record of success outside of Lebron's years. If you take Lebron out of the equation the Cavs have missed the playoffs like 12 years in a row.

The Eagles are going on 2 decades of consistently being good. Sure they miss the playoffs here and there, but thier success can only be topped by like 5/6 franchises.
