This place died quicker than Kovy's deal with the Devils.

Talked music with my roommate. Discussed concerts we've been to, and who we want to see.

Me

1. Anberlin
2. Family Force 5
3. Thousand Foot Krutch

After some of the plays he's made at 2nd over the years, I thought moving him to third was going to be terrible, but I will give him credit where he deserves it, he's been pretty good defensively at 3rd this season. Figgins at 2nd however is another story...not sure what's up with that.

Figgins hasn't been good period this year. Is he more comfortable at 3rd?

I would imagine so. He played third the past few seasons with the Angels and did really well. You're right though, not only has his defense been poor, so has his bat. I was excited for the M's to sign him, but he's been a big disappointment so far.

Here's hoping he can turn it around. Do you think Wak would consider flipping him and Ichiro in the lineup? Didn't he lead off in Anaheim (I'm sorry, I can't call them L.A.) too?

Yeah, Figgins hit leadoff in LA. I'd actually like to see Figgins hit leadoff with Ichiro 2nd, but I don't think Wak will do it. Even though his batting average is poor, his OBP is actually alright this year because he walks a lot. Ichiro on the other hand doesn't walk much but obviously gets a lot of hits. If Figgins walks and Ichiro gets a hit, then you have runners on 1st and 3rd more often than not. However if Ichiro gets a single then Figgins walks, you have runners on first and second. Anyway it makes sense to me, but like I said, I don't see the Mariners actually making that change.

that's who you've been to, or who you want to see?

First 2 I haven't seen yet. Krutch I have, but it was 4 years ago. I could almost write a short story with who I have seen. But most of you wouldn't know who they are.

TFK is Canadian (Ontario), BTW. Hockey fans, too. I know the drummer's team is Detroit. Not sure about the other 2.

Yeah, I knew his (Figgins) OBP was a strength coming in. A couple of the preseason preview magazines actually suggested the possibility of the switch. But you're right, probably not gonna happen now.

I saw Midnight Oil years about 20 years ago. I dont want to say they were awful, I was never a big fan to begin with, but they played the songs exactly as they were on the albums - no longer no shorter - nothing to do with the crowd. So therefore it was kind of boring.

yeah I've hated them from the first time I heard that one stupid song.
that was part of a festival, and the tragically hip and hothouse flowers were still to come so I couldn't leave.

I am certain I missed numerous, I'll think more. The majority of the shows I saw were when I was 18-22, bands stopped coming here and my ears would give me a fit for days afterwards so I rarely went anymore. I have never seen a stadium show and the arena shows I saw kind of sucked so I always looked for smaller venues.

Gogol Bordello (few months ago)
The Replacements
The Cure
REM
Indigo Girls
Concrete Blonde
Midnight Oil
The Orgin
Magnapop
The Connells
Holly Beth Vincent
Too Much Joy
Material Issue
The Mighty Lemon Drops
The Church
Blue Aeroplanes

I think I saw Goo Goo Dolls real early on, before they went light rock, but I really cannot remember.
A lot of the bands I saw weren't big bands then or never were but that was the type of band that came to my area back then. Well that and hair bands, which I had no interest in. I was dragged to some of the shows to see bands that I didnt like but even some of them surprised me and were fun. REM and Midnight Oil were two of my least favorite, just low energy performances.
I saw a bunch of local bands back then too.
