Should Bill Belichick be fired as the General Manager of the New England Patriots?

Well look at his drafts it's not like they are stellar. We have not WRs not sure what happened to all the TE s we drafted. The D line sucks LBs are slow. I can see him as a coach but perhaps a new / better GM could help.

Yes. BB is still drafting based on his "values". The league is changing and it's extremely difficult to coach and be the GM today. Few teams are allowing the coach to wear three or four hats.

I think if the Patriots want to keep Nick Caserio, they'll have to make him the General Manager. BB should have input, but the final decision would rest with Caserio. I think NC would make smarter trades and not emotional ones like Chandler Jones and Jimmy Garrappolo.

No.
Still the greatest coach in the league and a top level GM.
He does need to bring in better talent evaluators though.

Coach BB has delivered 6 SB titles, 9 SB appearances and 14 AFCCG appearances while working with BB the GM.

I'm inclined to let BB the coach choose our GM (and vice versa) until 2045 or so. Two of every three years to the AFCCG is pretty good.

(Yeah I know a certain former player helped a little)

So Managers?
No.

Talent evaluators.

If Harry KNeal...or whatever his name is...and the Metcalf kid are available we need someone who will be able to recognize and advise Bill on who the better player will be with regards to immediate impact as well as long term production for the team. I know, that's and easy one.
If Randy Moss 2.0 and Lawrence Taylor 2.0 are both available I do not want either the Linebackers coach or the talent evaluator to make the pick any more than I want a WR coach or offensive talent evaluator to make the pick. I want him or her to advise Bill that this Randy Moss 2.0 kid is the best WR to play since Jerry Rice then let Bill decide who would be better for the team.

But those positions are already in place, those people suggest multiple players to BB and he decides. I think your resolution does nothing when BB is making the only and final call and when those calls are failing that is on BB not talent evaluators commonly refereed to as scouts

I know those positions exist.
Hence the reason I said they need better talent evaluators.
Just like there is no sense in removing Bill's GM duties to hand them over to someone who will be worse.
As with any other position, player, coach, front office, better is what we need.
Bill is a fine GM. Talent evaluation, at some positions at least, needs to be removed from his duties.
Was Matt Millen a better GM? No. Was Al Davis a better GM? No.

Bill's strength has always been defense. He excels at picking multiple players that always fit his scheme.

Think back over the past twenty years at the "skill" positions and name the All Pros that he's selected.

My personal sense about it is that he constantly tries to avoid previous bad picks and he tends to the things that don't benefit Josh's Offense. Harry was able to knock around smaller college defensive players that were not top athletes. It made him look bigger and stronger and Bill saw him as a red zone beast who could outmuscle most of the DBs. Problem is that most dafetir=es (other than NE) are 6'2" or 6'3" and weigh 220+. Most of them can get off the ground 28" to 35" and match up well with Harry. Don't even try to compare Harry with Metcalf.
Metcalf has an extraordinary muscular body and had a vertical of 38" at the combine along with a 4.4 40 . Most teams thought he was TOO muscle bound.

Here's another question......................................................

Should Belichick be using the Salary Cap as an excuse for not being able to sign players?

He's sitting on $32M right now. Might not be anyone he thinks is worth signing, but is saying that the salary cap is the biggest problem when there are loaded teams that don't seem to have any problems signing players? You know, like the Chiefs, Buccaneers or Seahawks? Historically, BB has been able to sign people and be competitive. Are the players under contract not worth the big bucks? Devin McCourty looked like a seventy year old this past Sunday and his brother looked like his legs were made of lead.

Is "In BB we trust", a thing that may no longer be something we can trust??

I think he knows this year is a wash. Hold onto to cap money play FA and the draft has to be the rebuild strategy

Hes not great at WR or RB though i think michel was just wrong for the pats with white on the roster

draft is a crap shoot always has been or brady wouldnt have been the 6th qb in the draft
i believe that is why he trades top picks for a bunch of middle rounders

I don't think anyone stated they thought he sucked at the draft just that he seem to draft poorly. He manages the draft well, but his evaluations especially at WR are questionable. As for RBs I think he drafts the type of RBs that we need pass catching RBs I don't think he sucks at RB drafts.
