GH is just there for salary match. It's just how deals are done in the nba with the cap.

That’s not far off from what I said. I just had their lottery pick and early second rounder last year instead of another first this year (I figured a team wouldn’t want 3 picks in the same draft, especially this one)

I understand Gordon is there for the salary match.

Tristan Thompson

I'm halfway serious

It would be a big upgrade from McGee...not sure his asking price (maybe mid-level) but it sounds like he is 50-50 whether he wants to comeback to the Cavs.

For the Cavs I hope they don't sign, maybe if it's the mid-level exception. He was one of the favorite players but I feel he just isn't needed on this roster anymore. They have Drummond for at least a year, Nance and Love...he was seeing his minutes decline even though he averaged a career high in points.

He would be a perfect fit with the Lakers and Lebron would love him on the roster lol.

So this one has boston trading four first rounders and Hayward for Towns

With that and the top pick you basically retool and aren't on the hook for a huge contract in a rough economic situation. They do however get Horfords shitty deal.

IMO they would need more than Horford, Thybulle and 4 picks. Yeah they are 1st rounders but the MIL, BOS and PHI picks will all be lower picks. Only value is that Memphis 2020. They would need a young, blossoming player added to that...Thybulle could be that guy but not close to say a Brown or even Smart.

I doubt it happens but it's interesting. The thing is if there is one team to pull it off...it's Boston. They have the assets it's just if Ainge wants to give those pieces up. Tatum and Brown, I would think, are the two guys who are off limits.

That’s why I include Romeo Langford and Edwards. A lotto pick last year and a guy who was an early second rounder last year.

Guys a very god defender, rebounder, get you around 8-12 a game without having any plays run for him and knows how to play alongside Lebron. I'd love it if the Lakers got him.

You deal Hayward now or later. And you b burn picks. He adds nothing to this team. Hopefully this result clears that up.
In fairness, Hayward has been hurt often. If he hadn't been injured so often, things might have gone much better.

Even this post-season, Hayward rushed back from yet another injury and clearly wasn't 100% when he got back in there.

When Hayward has been healthy, he absolutely adds value to the Boston team... (I think at this point, because of all the injuries, folks forget that Hayward is a pretty good B-ball player when healthy).

Definite upgrade over Mcgee and a better fit with Lebron than Howard.

KAT hasn't proven to be anything but a stat compiler thus far. I don't know that I'd invest heavily in him either.

When you have Tatum, Brown and others it won't matter as much. He's still better than anything close to what they've had for a big man in a long time.

There are a lot of big men coming off of inflated salaries that will have to decide what's important to them this offseason; whether they will take less to stay where they are and/or make a ring run, or if they will go to the highest bidder. A guy that continues to float under the radar is Christian Wood, who will be a UFA this summer. Good rotational PF. I like Nerlens Noel at his current price too. Depends on how much of a role you're trying to fill.

I saw this info and it's a little heartening for the future...

"The Celtics were the youngest team in the playoffs, the shortest team in the playoffs, and had the least amount of experience of all 30 NBA teams this season. Yet, they still finished 3rd in the title race, coming just 6 wins shy of a championship."

I think many of us tend to forget how young the Celtics are...

I do agree with all of this.

I would not trade Smart.

Hayward should be traded unless he agreed to take a lot less and commit to that soon. Very soon or he is a piece of the trade assets

I would consider Kemba in trade if it got us a bigger guard who could shoot threes well but can defend guards better.

so use Hayward Picks Recent draftees and Kemba

if you can get a star as a big and a great shooting defender Guard It would be great. Need a sharp shooter off the bench. Keep Theis

KAT is the one to get.

But I think they needed him to do this last offseason.

But at least 2 of this year's picks (obviously 14 is one of them). 2 more picks in the next 3 years, Langford and Edwards, and then they they need to fill salary or find a 3rd team (Hayward has value in 2 ways, as a player for 1 year, and then he expires, so a team who may want to win now and clear cap space for next summer (like a miami or a dallas) could be interested.

But I'm not sure Boston will have the best offer.

OKC will if they want to.

GS can too if Minny takes back wiggins lol

4 late firsts plus salary filler does return a prime star like KAT unless there isn’t a strong market for him.

If KAT is on the trade block there will be.

Hayward doesn’t have any trade value though. You aren’t going to get an asset back unless you are eating a worse contract.

Not sure what you gain here

I mean who has more picks to offer?

okc and Gs are the two who can offer more imo.

he May have more value as an expiring contract than a player.

The problem is Towns is pretty untouchable and I haven’t heard of him wanting to be traded or Minny trying to trade him. His value is sky high

14 is a lottery pick. That’s not late.
Langford was a lotto pick last year.

maybe the knicks offer Barrett 7 and Robinson.

there were reports last week saying he was “as good as gone”

otherwise yeah, I wouldn’t have even brought him up.
