I mean who has more picks to offer?

okc and Gs are the two who can offer more imo.

GS’ 2 firsts this year are worth substantially more than 4 Celtic firsts given the young core Boston has.

Add KAT to that and they are late 20s for a long time to come.

All it takes is 1 to make your offer irrelevant

And I am sure other teams could get creative and beat that.

Phoenix, for example if they wanted to pair Townes and Booker.

yeah. I’m just curious what teams would. Because could and would are two Different things.

there were reports last week saying he was “as good as gone”

otherwise yeah, I wouldn’t have even brought him up.

Here is another rumor saying the opposite lol. He just signed a huge contract and he seems to be the cornerstone of the franchise at this point. I don't see him going anywhere anytime soon. Only reason I even brought it up bc the Celtics do have a lot of assets

Yeah I was suprised because They just traded for Russell to keep him happy.

now they need to find some defense. Culver is supposed to help there.

basically they need another Covington.

i would love for Boston to move up to 17 with them, but 26, 30 and Edwards is probably a little short.

So it sounds like Boston is unlikely to use it's MLE. Making Danny's job a little harder.

So here's what I'm thinking for the picks with 2 weeks to go until the draft:

14- Cole Anthony - backup PG is a huge need. No one knows what you'll get out of Edwards. Right now I see Edwards going slightly after this in mocks, i think he's the pick.

26- Tyler Bey- long defender, better shooter based on the stats than the reports say. Other guy could be Trevelian Queen. Who i like alot.

30- I would say this would be Xavier Tillman to replace Kanter and (hopefully) Frenchy. But I wouldn't mind Danny taking Queen here to just go like miami with a lot of length. Queen is a better shooter than Bey right now as well. But another older guy. A lot like Thybull last year.

47- I might swing big with kenyon martin jr here and put him on a 2 way deal. Or Grant Riller who is also an older, yet do it all PG type.

the reality is that what Danny does with Hayward will decide alot of this.

I wouldn't mind using 47 to dump Frenchy if necessary to clear out a roster spot for Tatum's best friend, Harry Giles.

Don't think Anthony falls that's far

It’s totally possible. Just takes one team to fall in love. He’s not being mocked ahead of Boston very much right now. If anything I’ve seen him mostly between Orlando and Miami’s pick

He started off so hot and then got injured. I just feel like someone takes a shot. I could be wrong. Would totally agree he'd be a good fit for boston

He'll re-work his deal so it will be "team friendly". :thumb:

some celtics fan on athletic was reading he was thinking of opting out...that would be...beyond insane to me.

Umm...why would he do that? LOL I don't think any player is that generous.

The only reason that I can think of is that he sees the writing on the wall and wants to be able to choose where he goes. It'll cost him a lot of money, but if he wants a shot at a title, he can sign with a contender.

Unless he has a very good season and stays healthy, he was going to lose a lot of money any way. Perhaps he signs with a contending team on a 1 and 1 or even a 2 and 1 knowing that he can have a shot at a title and then re-sign for a bigger deal later.

It would be a bit of a gamble considering his injury history, but he may feel he's already made enough to be okay if things don't work out.
