Damn. Did anyone actually expect the defense to stop them at the end. I kept watching the clock - hoping they would leave us enough time. I know Seattle stopped us at the end , but desperation drives are different than normal drives. If you don’t get a sack or penalty called vs the other team - it’s hard to stop because of the team having 4 downs.
No one should expect our defense to stop Wilson.
Our defense sucks right now. There is no defense for it, even though I give it to you for trying. they have given up 77 pts in the last two games. The sad part. They dont even get close to stopping the hawks.
unless the defense gets better or fixed. This team will not see the playoffs. & that will not be Dak's fault, although I see a pattern of trying to make it so. Come to think of it. Outside of an awesome onside kick. Our special teams is found lacking as well. 2 out of our three phases suck yet all I hear is how Dak is failing. (or not playing up to par)

Oh Jesus, really? There were two to three holds I saw against Seattle's defense that allowed Dak to complete deep passes (and once scrambling for a decent chunk of yards). Let's not forget the obvious helmet to helmet against Lockett that was never called and the blatant and intentional injury caused by your fat fucking lineman to Carson which resulted in no penalty/ejection (and yes, Clowney should've been penalized for the hit on Wentz last year, but that's not what we're talking about)....

Overall the refs were fairly decent in this game... there was some miss holding on both defenses, but nothing that was a blatant WTF that swung the game.

If you've followed me at ALL during my time on the Hoop you would know I will absolutely call out Seattle when they get officiating bias and 'lucky' ref calls, and it really never happened this game. I'm also one of the few if only Seahawks that will say SuperBowl 40 was generally fairly called outside of the 'illegal Matt Hasselbeck tackle' which didn't matter anyway at that point.

I generally like most of the Cowboys fans on this forum, but you're delusional as fuck all. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're just sour/pissed because of the loss and will come to your senses in 24-72 hours (as it can take that time for me to do so).
Hill also took a cheap head shot to Russ. I have no problem with players living on the edge of dirty, but there was intent to injure Carson and didn't seem like it was provoked by something earlier. I'd be fine cutting him today just for that. I'm sure he'll get his soon enough if he keeps this up.

The defense has been bad, but they did force 7 punts in the game. Two of the turnovers set Seattle up with a very short field.
Dak played a good game, but I think that is the point a lot of folks are making. It isn't hate to say a guy might deserve to be one of the ten highest paid players in the game but not the highest. After watching that game, I doubt anyone but Dak's biggest fan would say he deserves to make more money than Russell Wilson, no matter what the situation.

That's not the point....Wilson isn't the benchmark, just like he wasn't when Houston signed Watson. Is Wentz really 1.5M less a player than Wilson? Neither QB has done well in playoff games, yet one is right behind Wilson and the other makes 5M more a season. These is no question Wilson is a better QB than all three but his agent isn't focused on Wilson, he's focused on a new TV deal and new NFL gambling money which will push the salary cap up greatly over the next two or three season. It's rumored FOX will double what their currently paying to keep NFC rights. I bet Wilson isn't making 35M per after next season either. Dak is far from being the only QB making big bucks with limited playoff success. It's the cost of doing business in today's NFL QB market.

It didn't look good and I can see why Seattle was upset. Having said that....I don't think Hill had intentions on hurting Carson and I sure as hell don't think that was his intent on Wilson. They guy is young and much maligned after last season. I think he was playing hard and didn't know if Carson's other foot was planted to lunge for additional yardage. If he's dirty, that will show itself again real soon

I'm not missing your point but I think Wentz is a great argument against paying a guy $40 million. I would bet anything that if Philly had it to do over again, they wouldn't have paid Wentz. Because a couple of years after you pay him, the team around him starts looking a lot different. Philly doesn't have anywhere near the overall squad they had when Wentz was on his rookie deal. Dan is playing really well, but the bottom line is that in the last 19 games the team is 9-10. What happens after a couple of years of paying Dak $35 million and then all of a sudden we have to say goodbye to solid starters we can't afford? When we lose Michael Gallup because we can't pay him and have to draft a replacement for TSmith because we can't afford a vet, will we win more games? Just playing devils advocate

You're right....many here blame Dak everytime they lose a game. He didn't play a perfect game but he made plenty of good plays to get us back in the ball game. Defense, special teams and oline play is a shit load to over come, but it darn near happened against a team very few expected us to beat going in to the game.

I prefer to see the glass half full at this point. I actually think our special team coverage has been pretty good thus far. I am concerned our kicker was just handed the job after a very poor season last year. I've seen enough to know we're a real bad run blocking oline without out two tackles. Williams is over matched at guard and Looney hasn't been much better. Makes you wonder how bad McGovern as been to not get a chance. I'd like to see the Wisconsin rookie center take over and move Looney to left guard since Jerry refused to sign Ronald Leary, who lives 5 minutes from the Star.

This defense will be bottom 3rd at best all year. The safety play might be the worst in the league and again Jerry refuses to bring a guy in that would help greatly. Some how some way it might come down to Brandon Carr....anything to get #23 off the field. Hell, I'd rather roll with the rookie Robinson at this point. Jaylon Smith will be game played each week, he's that bad in coverage. Our only hope is people get healthy in the backfield and LB while the dline gets better by the week. With a little luck, we won't remain bottom 5

Play devils advocate but don't forget about a cap that will be much higher within two seasons, three tops.

Also....your example of TSmith is a bad one. He has the most team friendly contract on this team. We might lose him due to health but never due to money. I also think Cooper after two years is cut and Gallup stays.

Philly issue remains kicking the can down the road much more so than Wentz's contract. NOW...it hurts if he continues to regress as a QB.

You've said if Dallas doesn't make the SB you'd let Dak walk and roll with Dalton...,.yet Watson just got 40M per and he's yet to win a playoffs game. My point remains a lot of things are bad but paying Dak remains the least of my concerns.

we'll see

This is so depressing. We have the capability to be the greatest show on turf 2.0 but we can’t help but to get in our on way. It’s like that drug addict you hope gets his life together but time after time after time they go right back to square one and never gets right. One step forward, two steps back.

Watching our games I would get mad and yell at the TV when we do something stupid but it gotten to the point where I don’t even get mad no more, I just stare at the screen and shake my head in straight disappointment. Like yep...it was only a matter of time like it’s an expectation now.

This reminds me so much of the dog days of the Romo years when we put up alot of yards and have promising seasons but something was ALWAYS missing. If it wasn’t the offense, it was the defense, if it wasn’t the defense it was stupid play calling. Almost 10 years later, different QB, different coaches, different scheme, same ol’ shit. Again, it’s depressing like the crackhead who just can’t get right. Ever since Jimmy Johnson.

Have to pay Dak in my opinion regardless of what happens this season. I love Zeke and he is outstanding , but that was probably a mistake. Steve Young said it tonight - the day of the drop back Qb is over. Sure the big QBs with the big arms will have some success, but the league is changing. You need guys that can play on the run. Our guy can and do it well. They are hard to find . Just my opinion. As far as Coop - I don’t want to lose him. I think he took Dak from a pretty good Qb to being on the verge of elite.

I didn't. There was 4+ minutes on the clock. That was way too much time for Russell Wilson considering what he had done pretty much the entire 2nd half.
That is the problem. We should have a defense that can be expected to stop the other team at the end of the game.

Week 3. 1-2. First place in NFC East. Things aren't so bad. Fix the secondary and this team has a chance to make some playoff noise IMO

The patchwork Oline will get a huge test this week. Anxious to see how they do versus the best Defensive lineman in the league not named Aaron Donald. The secondary will have its challenges as well. Cleveland is playing pretty good right now.

I'm assuming 8-8 wins the division at this point. So I'm not stressed about winning or losing a game or two at this point. The OL will be back at some point this year. Maybe Smith this week and maybe Collins soon after :hope:

Yes 8-8 will likely win the division, but to me that would be a major disappointment. This is a 10-12 win team still as long as Dak is healthy. I would be shocked if we win less than 10 as long as 4 is good to go.

Which is why I put a premium on these next two games (Browns; @ Giants). That Cardinals game on the 19th is going to be a Kyler Murray homecoming game and I have a sense he will be beyond psyched to play well in the Death Star. Really need these next two and need to see improvements across the board in both.
