I think that they’re playing the wait and see game.There is absolutely zero talk about a 13 game season transpiring. Like, nothing. You can google it and zero things come up related to this.
Don't think you can shorten it without redoing the whole schedule. Can't lose the division games.Remember the week 2 games consist of teams and opponents on the same bye. So if the NFL started week 5, that's what we'll have on those bye weeks, and a 13-game season.

We both know there's always rumors about what's going on or potential plans. Just like we're hearing right now about camp/pre-season. There's nothing on this. They also wouldn't do it this way since many teams open with divisional games. The Lions open with two consecutively. Where as the Bears and others have one. They couldn't just chop off the front end like this. It would be totally imbalanced.
