Great move by Cam, too. Clearly, he wants to re-establish himself and where would be a better place for him? a 4th rounder who has barely played more than me and career backup entrenched there now. Pretty decent coach. while they might regress, not likely to be bad enough to get a high pick and get their QB of future high in the next draft to replace him if he succeeds.

Agree.

Plus, as someone else pointed out. Cam's only 31. If he can still play and can stay healthy, they can get a good 4-5 more years out of him.

Could be the best thing possible for both Cam and the Pats.

I don't like them, but it shows why they're usually playing chess while the rest of the league is playing checkers. lol

I haven't been a serious NFL fan for a decade.

The Kyler Murray fever peaked my interest last year.

So, I look forward to seeing if you are right.

Who was the true catalyst for success for the Pats, Brady or Belichick?

That's gonna be a fun debate for the next few years.
Excellent Q and not sure we'll ever know. Well, if BB wins a title with a middling QB or Cam we might know. Not really fair, though, for Brady, as the guy is close to being in his mid 40s so hard to hold it against him if he doesn't win now without BB.

What did I miss now?

Nothing really new.

Obviously, with all that is going on, there can be covid, blm, etc. news that also relates directly to the NBA.

So, for example, if NBA players decide to have slogans or Black Live Matter on their jerseys we can discuss that as it relates to the NBA and what we think of the slogans, etc.

Same with Covid, it can effect what players will play, it can shut down the re-start before or after it's gets started, so we can discuss that stuff as well.

Where it gets to be an issue is when we start dragging Trump, Biden and other politicians...what they have or have not done, who we are/are not voting for, etc. into the discussion.

Not sure I'd call this a chess/checkers situation. I mean, they had nothing to do with Cam's arm falling off then getting hurt again and released by his old team.

will say good timing by them a guy like him was available when Brady left.

True. I consider it chess/checkers because how many other teams have had the opportunity to sign him and didn't?

And knowing the Pats...it'll work. lol

Yeah, I'm not onboard with this.

Our debates might get testy at times.

But, we police ourselves enough to not let it get out of hand.

Yet, outsiders are allowed to disrupt that because their feelings get hurt when we disagree?

Like, there was a mass culling of my posts and I purposely make sure my non-basketball opinions are not offensive.

I like @gng. But, this was a total bitch move.

Alas, it's not my party.

If I don't want to deal with this fuckery, and I don't, I can just take my ball and go home.

The powers that be, feel free to delete this shit like you did my other 20 posts.

I get what you are saying (and often it is chess/checkers with them)but FA not like buying a piece of candy. don't just get to pick the one you want. FAs have a say, as well. I mean, if the Browns come calling I doubt he has much interest if he has other options. Not because "it's the browns". why would he go where they have a #1 pick AND arguably the top backup in the league when trying to re-establish himself. Good chance he'd be lucky to be the #2 there.

If Brady stayed and was 5 years younger (especially with Brissett and/or Jimmy G behind him) I doubt a guy in Newton's situation gives them the time of day.

as mentioned, NE was lucky in the year Brady left there were a number of solid QBs available.....moreso than most offseasons. AND I don't think Cam could have found a better situation for himself.

Hopefully, you'll stick around. With all that's going on I do understand trying to keep it all to one area.

Hopefully, something will happen that will calm shit down, especially in the PF.

Not sure what more there is to discuss about the politicians that hasn't already been discussed anyway.

They're all going to keep saying stupid shit and they're all going to continue to blame each other.

I think some people would like to the ability to speak politics without sitting through the insults and name calling. Especially in possibly the most important time of the last decade or so.

Some just want to be able to air their thoughts in an environment they feel comfortable to do so.

Like I had mentioned in the off the court thread someone with mod powers could use extreme discretion with the nba thread in the PF with who can or can't enter the thread.

I get that requires extra effort though and a lot of headache

There is no calming the PF down. Too many backwards thinkers. So many that even more moderate people get caught up and say stuff they probably wouldn’t on their on.

I told you all about the Bubba thread yesterday. It was me vs. 10 and I was the troll for defending Bubba.

I live in a pretty liberal college town, so maybe I am just oblivious. But the PF just feels like an alternate universe to me. I sincerely hope that isn’t representative of how people in our country actually think.

That's basically what we had.

I feel like I know enough to trust that this isn't being done lightly or arbitrarily.

Yeah it's lame but make no sense to argue to someone who doesn't respond to people. I give up so unless there's basketball news, i dont plan to be posting on SportsHoopla much for the next month

How much have you watched?

I won’t give anything away, but I loved the 1st 2 seasons. The next 2 were a bit over the top for me. Kind of like the they make a sequel to the classic and the sequel just doesn’t do it justice.

Maybe that is just me though.

I get that but I'm saying the thread would have to be in the PF but can't you permaban people from a specific thread?

Just set the rules and say hey all are welcome but anyone who steps out of line will be banned

If it's too much work for one person I get it and you know people will cry about it but seems like one semi reasonable thread can exist. There is one sparhawk started that has been modded to keep clean.

I'm only in the beginning of season two. That stinks hopefully it doesn't fall off too badly.

Would love to see an Americanized version.

No offense. But statements like that are why the PF is the way it is.

Both sides aren't really interested in what the other side thinks. It's just seeing who can call the other a retard the loudest.

It looks a lot like what is happening in DC.
