This kid is right.

But, nobody wants to hear this shit right now.

I have never been a fan of having a son pay for the Suns of a father.

So here's hoping cooler heads will prevail.

People in this tweet trying to put the cops address out there.

Wtf.... I'm disgusted by their actiions.

But, not enough to make their families pay.

Agreed. No one should have to pay for the Suns. It's torture to make someone watch that

People have to get under control though. Looting your city isn’t going to accomplish anything positive. As long as this plays out, people are putting police in a terrible position and only inviting more tragedy.

Protest peacefully, make your voice heard and apply pressure for the city to do the right thing. But stop the looting.

Now that it seems obvious that basketball will return at some point, I have been looking ahead towards free agency.

Outside of Reggie Jackson, the Clippers are in a great position to retain their free agents.

Trading for Morris was wise. No matter what, we wouldn't be able to offer anyone more than the t-mle of 6 mill.

Even if revenues drop, Morris would have gotten more.

Now, we have his non Bird rights which means we can give him a 4 yr deal starting at 18 mil.

We can offer Trezl even more.

I don't know what Reggie can get this summer. The Teams that could use him, that have a shot at winning are in the same tax paying midlevel boat, unless they give teams the ability to amnesty one deal this summer.

I'd expect Reggie to command very little

I refuse to go back more than 2 pages.

SO, what's everyone's thoughts on reseeding?

Sorry if it's already been discussed.

I actually favor just starting the playoffs with maybe a couple of tuneup, preseason like games.

This could teach teams a lesson about taking the regular Season more serious...

* Side eyes the Clippers*

Yeah, probably not....lol

But, could you imagine if the Lakers or Bucks reward for playing hard all year was the B!azers?

Lmfao

I still got the top teams.

But, it wouldn't be easy at all.

There shouldn't be any changes made unless they decide on a few play-in games (but even that is unnecessary IMO). Just have camp for the top 16, maybe a few warm up games against the opposite conference that don't count in the standings, then start the playoffs.

I'd be willing to bet that's what they'll end up doing, or something very similar.

As much fun as it would be to have something like what the NHL is doing, it just seems like it reaches a point where there are too many moving parts.

It would be fair, imo.

When they stopped the season, depending on the team, there were 17-19 games left. That's plenty of time for things to change, especially among the lower seeds.

Some of those teams that would be out, could be trouble if they got a chance.

If the Blazers were healthy, I could easily see them beating the Grizzlies then giving the Lakers fits.

The Pelicans were looking like they were starting figure some things out, so I could see them taking out the Mavs and then giving the Jazz a run for their money if not beat them.

The first round doesn't look as compelling in the East, but who knows how teams will react to this situation. Still might end up with an upset or at least some good series.

Is it fair though? These teams were gifted months of recovery time, while slowing other teams' momentum. Things are already disjointed enough, no need to stress the logistics of this slap-dash end of season even further IMO. Some of the teams in the East certainly don't deserve that shot regardless. It's a workable scenario, but not worth bringing 8 more teams into the bubble for likely minimal success.

Pretty safe to say that both ends of the spectrum were wrong.

The low side estimates were clearly and definitely wrong.

The high side estimates were probably wrong too.

BUT, they were based on the assumption of no social distancing, life as normal etc. That isn’t what happened, so those high numbers were probably never going to be realized.

saying the high end was wrong is kind of missing the point of the estimate in the first place. It got people’s attention and hopefully ensured that we don’t get close to those numbers. But without shutting down the economy and all the other steps we took, it is impossible to say how high the death toll would have climbed. Could very well have been well over 1 million people.

And we are also still a long way from being past this.

This does seem to be the narrative the completely wrong people are going with. Not sure it's totally true.

It's basically correct. The high end models were based on nobody doing anything to help contain it. We did do things to help contain it, so the worst case did not occur. It very well may have had we just let it rip.

Bottom line, this thing happened, we are getting through it, and it could have been far worse.

And some things will be better after, like future hygiene protocols, more working from home, etc.

If thats the way you look at things you would agree that the Cavs should have basically given up in the Finals as no team had ever come back from a 3-1 Finals deficit.

If there's still a chance, you play for it.

Now if the Blazers lose the first two games or the Grizzlies win their first two, then you can sit.
comparing the last handful of reg. season games after being off a few months in a worldwide pandemic and a 3-1 deficit in the Finals?

I've followed this closely from day one here. I can tell you I was mocked for even suggesting we'd be worse than Italy by some

The folks on the low end of expectations for this certainly didn't dream a number like 100k. That's why they're scrambling to disprove the numbers.

But they can't be disproven. Too many total people are dying regardless of what you code it.

But.... It also isn't end of times stuff and if you're otherwise healthy you're extremely likely to be safe from serious consequences.

If they were just a little off I could buy this, but I think the high end was still way off even with social distancing.

don't recall the national numbers, but Governor and medical person here were saying 40-70% would get the virus and were saying would get to being 100k per day.

Doesn't matter what you 'buy'. That's what happened.
