In all honesty, they aren’t keeping Sexton and Garland long term anyway.

Have to take best player available. If that is Ball, then you take him.
If you mean wont keep both Sexton and Garland I think that could be likely. agree on BPA for them....unless an undersized guard who is not considered elite.

Yeah for this draft being guard heavy, at least at the top, they really do not need a small guard at all.

true PG - Garland
PG/SG - Sexton
SG - KPJ

They need a playmaking/scoring F...not a whole lot to choose from at the top but that's why I lean Toppin or even Ball.

Definitely not the best year to get THE top pick I don't think. But I do think it's better than the Bennett draft.

Certainly possible, but not sure what you've seen so far that makes to seem so sure Garland is better than sexton.

That said, as far as Cavs are concerned, they just need to take BPA and agree if it's LeMelo so be it. That said, unless they see him as elite and much better than what they have they probably need to avoid an undersized guard.

I never said Garland was better right now but this is for the future, not right now. Garland is a better pure PG. Sexton has improved though with the transition of playing two guard at times though, better vision and very nice shooter...but I still feel Garland has more potential.

If there was a way to keep both I am all for it but a lot of deficiencies defensively by keeping both especially if they want to play KPJ big minutes too, who is a SG. If they played all 3 they would be greatly undersized.
We often heard at times Lillard-McCollum could be a forecast, size wise, but Sexton and Garland are both 6'1"...like I said, I hope it works and I'm glad they went BPA last year but at worst Sexton is a trade piece and can bring back plenty of value if he keeps improving.

I get it...my question is what have you seen SO FAR that makes you seem so sure Garland will be better IN THE FUTURE? Sexton got better and better as a rookie and improved in year 2 (at least second half). I think Garland might have gotten worse as the year went on. Isn't to say he wont be better, but he hasn't shown me yet that he will. I just hope one turns into a stud and the other just good enough to get something of value.

No doubt wishful thinking they can be Lillard/McCollum.

Garland definitely didn't get worse but he's played 55 games of college and NBA ball. Sexton had a year in the SEC. The thing about Sexton is he could be a 25 ppg scorer for years to come...doesn't mean he is a good fit, better player or right for the Cavs. HE can score, we know that. Very good 3 pt shooter right now, lower volume but what else can he do? Especially playing at an undersized 2 guard position. Something doesn't fit...Cavs need to work through it. But drafting another guard would even clog that position more.

So, Sexton just seems like the guy that doesn't have a true role. Garland IS a true PG...Sexton isn't, so where does that leave him? That is the question. Can he develop it that role? Maybe but Garland is already better at the role without a doubt. Sexton a 6th man like Harden for OKC? Like I said, wouldn't mind both but just watching games...long-term it doesn't make sense, too many defensive deficiencies.

lol

First he thought he could get a Kobe like send off.

Now Lebron's not a top 5 player.

He should probably just shut up.

It is pretty obvious Paul Pierce was the better player.

To live in the mind of Paul Pierce:

Paul Pierce >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MJ >>>>>>>>>>> Kobe >>>>>>>>>>>>> Kyrie >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Barkley >>>>>>>>>>>>> Brian Scalabrine >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lebron

Did you see the story why they hate each other?

Pierce spit in Lebron's direction during preseason in 2004.

I'll say it again. People like Paul Pierce should not have a national tv job. He sucks and is a big hater.

I was looking at mock drafts from the 2011 NBA Draft for shits and gigs. Here is one from Walter Football...

1. Kyrie Irving - Cavs
2. Derrick Williams - Twolves
3. Enes Kanter - Jazz
4. Jonas Valanciunas - Cavs
5. Brandon Knight - Raptors
6. Jan Vesely - Wizards
7. Bismack Biyombo - Bobcats
8. Tristan Thompson - Pistons
9. Klay Thompson - Bobcats
10. Jimmer Fredette - Kings
11. Kawhi Leonard - Warriors
12 Kemba Walker - Jazz

Top 3 are the same but could you imagine Kawhi and Steph...I mean Steph and Klay ain't bad but also wonder if Kawhi develops into the player he is now if he wasn't drafted by the Spurs. Klay goes to the Bobcats and has to carry a franchise like Kemba tried to do. Kemba goes to Utah.
