I don't see the plan of moving with RK and trading down as the plan its either Chase Young or a massive trade haul no exceptions

If we are stuck at 2, we will probably pick Chase; however, I don’t expect a massive haul. If I were in charge, I would require one; but then again, RK would have been traded a couple of years ago.

I expect a trade down with Miami for 5, 26, and a third (second if we are lucky)

To be clear, this team is standing pat and selecting Chase Young at #2

OR

Trading Down with Miami for less than we should expect to get from them. (Our team won't do that)

OR

Trading down with Miami for more than they would be willing to give up.

OR

Trading with another team, for less than what we could get from a trade with Miami and into a weaker drafting position.

What did I miss?

It is Washington. We may trade down for Josh Rosen.

Given that fact, there seems to be two camps on what to do with Kerrigan.

1. His value here as a role model.(Keep him)

2. His trade value to a team in desperate need of more trade capital. (Trade him)

Here is where sty is absolutely right . We have the number 2 pick with the next LT on the table . So hell yes I am asking for my damn price ( and it’s 2 1sts , 2 2nds, a 3rd 4th and 5th and a 6th) or you can sit at whatever position you are at and hope Tua drops in your lap .

if we don’t get what we want “ horrors “ we are stuck with the generational game changer

whatever will I do :eek::nod:

I don't think we get more than 3 extra picks. Plus the swap. 2 ones and a 2. Its a fair offer from Miami if they offer that.

I think it is funny. Wouldn’t that extra 12 million in cap space be nice to have going into next year? It is absurd to keep a guy as a role model at that price, especially going into a new system.

It would already be available next season

No, if we don’t use it this year, it carries over until next year. It would be smart to start saving cap space, if not needed, so we can pay that DL.
Once he plays out his contract it’s off the books

Why didn’t we let Josh Norman play out his contract? Because it would be stupid to do so. This is the same thing. If we trade him or cut him, he is off the books now and we have 12 million more in cap space this season or we carry it over into next. That money can be used to retain our young talent that is actually worth the price.

Put aside your blind love for RK, and you would agree with me.

I think RK gets moved once young is for sure chosen. If cincy would pull the surprise move and take young, or there is a trade too good to pass on then the skins would need RK

Assuming the Dolphins trade up to #2 what will it cost the Dolphins? Well if we use the RG3 trade when we were at #6 and moved to #2 we gave up the swap plus 2 first round picks and a 2nd. So now in 2020 for the Dolphins to move up they would have to do the swap and give us #18, #26, and a 2nd rounder. Will Miami give this up?

Now when the Eagles move up from #8 to #2 to get Wentz they gave up the swap, a first the following year, a 2nd two years from the trade, a 3rd and 4th the same year as the trade. But the eagles got back a 4th the next year. Eagles made out like Bandits for moving up 6 slots for a QB. So now in 2020 if the Dolphins use this model. The Dolphins would only give up a 1st next year, a 3rd and 4th this year and a 2nd two years from now but we get back a 4th in 2021. That's crazy if we accept this.

What do you guys think is fair trade compensation if the Dolphins move up to #2? If the Dolphins offer what we gave the Rams for Rg3 do we have to take it? What if they offer #5,18,26 and a 2nd in 2021?

Thoughts?

That move up set the Skins back years and it would also set the Fins back years. Asking price is to much, would be stupid move.

Do we have to be foolish here ? The team wants him here for now . The money is there next yr. whether he plays or not. Now if we suddenly find the must have player then sure do what must be done. The level of play RK exhibited as compared to Norman’s level isn’t even close hence it’s apples to oranges

and no one has “ blind love “ for anyone and we have cap space to roll over for next season . Sometimes you have to give guys a chance to come back and make things. Right . RK was injured and throughout his career he has been productive and healthy . We aren’t going anywhere next season so keep him , give him a chance for a role on the team . And part ways in 2021

But you might lose Tua to the Chargers. With all your draft capital you could get Tua. Would you move up for the swap, 18, and 26?

That's foolish skinsdad. IF you think we are not going anywhere this season, then why keep him? Take the draft pick whether its a 3rd or 4th rounder. Should have been gone last year when the Colts were interested but Allen blew it.

It isn’t foolish at all. Norman wasn’t worth the money and 12 million on the bench is not worth it.

Next years money will be there, but if we get rid of RK, we have 12 million more for next year. Last year, RK was just as worthless as Norman.

We have more to roll over if we get rid of RK. What is the actual value of RK sitting on the bench?

Not concerned about losing Tua. There are 3-4 other QB's fins can grab. Tua is good, but is injury liability. If he is there at 5, sure I would take him, but wouldn't give up the other two 1st round picks and their high 2nd rounder just to move up three spots. It just doesn't add up IMO.
