If California had the strict orders earlier than other states, it would mean less need for testing because there wouldn't be as many people exposed.

So, while increased testing may likely mean a bump in numbers of infected people, I'd be surprised if there was a significant one. Especially since we've been under stricter orders for about a month now.

Let's pray the residents of these states don't learn this the hard way.

9 states have yet to issue formal stay-at-home orders amid coronavirus

Looking like the nba season will get canceled because they were so set on following what was happening in China even though China was never honest about the amount of covid deaths

It's also looking like this thing may have started even sooner than the soonest estimates we've seen.

Apparently there are now reports of hospitals and doctors treating people exhibiting symptoms of flu or strep, but tested negative.

They were treated as if they had it and got better.

There's also a new study out of Oxford University that says there maybe millions who have already had it, didn't know it now have built up immunity.

So others can talk about this topic but since I mentioned actual things Trump has said it's an issue?

He is the so called leader of the country. And he's made some bad decisions. I wonder what you opinions would be if a dem. was the president right now & handled things exactly the way he has. And I never said it's all his fault. But the vast majority of it is.

I don't want you to ban me from this site so I'll stop talking about this topic. Are others allowed to talk about though? Valid question.

Agree.

I looked at the list of states and it looks like they are all places that aren't nearly as populous as a lot of other states that have taken precautions.

They also don't seem to be places that a lot of folks travel to, especially this time of year.

I have an Aunt who lives in Wyoming and in the part of the state she lives in, they can't go anywhere from about mid-December until about now except by snowmobile. She doesn't seem to be too concerned and she's in the age group that would be vulnerable.

So, maybe they're banking on those kind of things. Hope they're right.

But that's my point, celebrities and the rich are targets, I'm not.

But I get it, you are trained to use firearms and are comfortable with them. I am not, and I just don't feel I need one. The chances I do are miniscule, and I'm comfortable with that.
I have been in a situation once that a gun could have helped....well, actually, it would not have helped in this instance. Guy broke into our house (I was 14-15) and woke up my mother. Unless gun was kept in my room, would not have done any good. he had knife, no gun.

Woke her up because he couldn't find her purse. she gave it to him and he left. Not in the nicest neighborhood, but certainly not terrible.

I don't say this as someone against guns...people should make own choice.

I shot handguns as a teenager on a central Texas ranch, shooting at nutria that did damage to their dams. It was very fun, I maybe hit one out of about ten I tried to. Just not a gun person.
I shot rifles at summer camp in late 70s/early 80s. Yep..you read that right. Camp is still open, but guessing no more rifle range.

Okay, I'm as big a Lakers fan as anyone and get that the Hall of Fame class was being announced.

But c'mon ESPN, do we really need to see Kobe's farewell game?

Even though I'll probably end up watching the whole thing. :L

I was lucky enough to go to the original Boston Garden with my dad back in the 80's multiple times. And I was at Bird's last NBA game in '92 against the Cavs.
Trying this without looking....122-104 Game 7 cavs win. Seem to recall Nance going nuts with some 17-20 foot jumpers. Watched in my apartment at OSU. You win.

Oh there's a very valid reason why the country has been behind from day one. No need to mention any names though. It should be obvious.
One you are thinking is valid, but you'd need to come up with thousands of names (if not millions) as the real problem. In america, we like our freedom too much.

Hey I saw in a different thread you said people in Ohio aren't taking things seriously. Can you post anything mentioning that? Wondering which parts of the state are being knuckleheads about this. I only know what's going on in NE Ohio. Talking to family & friends people are taking things seriously there from what I've been told. The governor issued stay-at-home orders back on March 23.
Seems like being taken as seriously here as most states (if not more seriously).

I don't see why people are bitching about self isolation so much.

My husband works from home now. He's got his own little office and does everything from there.

Both my kids are keeping themselves busy every single day. One of them plays videogames and is constantly on there with her friends. The other is learning a new language. If the weather is nice (which it rarely has been) we'll do shit in the garden.

I've got Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime to keep me busy on top of the 2000 piece jigsaw puzzle. Last weekend I had a group video chat with my girlfriends over a bottle of wine. It was a hoot.

People need to stop being such cunts, stay indoors and STFU about boredom.
though not everyone in same situation for most part I agree. Oldest kid is pretty social (18 years old) so I get it if she complains. That said, at least she gets it now and stops asking to go out. 2 times we let her see one friend. Outside, stayed in their cars, parked 10-15 feet apart. They just laid in their trunks.

The Boy (17)? Just a very long spring break for him. Like your daughter, playing a lot of video games.

I think I've seen less of my son since this started than before.

He's playing video games online all day. Or helping another friend with his podcast.

At least we'll be watching Wrestlemania 36 together (that's how desperate I am for sports). lol

It's way less than 2% of healthy people. But anyway, you and Wamu need to find someone else to make up reasons to be outraged at.
Yeah...didn't get that one. I mean, I guess I did, but bad analogy.

Not jinxing myself, so if I make it, so looking forward to watching the draft with The Boy. Not an actual game, but it's something that matters in sports.

You got the score right, helluva memory. Had to look the box score score. Nance had his typical stat-stuffer game. 7-14 from the field. 15 pts, 9 rebs, 8 asts, 2 stls & 1 blk. Daugherty had a damn game. 9-11 from the field, 10-13 from the line. 28 pts, 9 rebs, 6 asts & 3 blks. HotRod had 20 pts, 8 rebs & 4 blks off the bench.
