Both Harrison and Suh got about 9.2M last year. This signing of Poe better be less than 6.5M annual. Otherwise, just sign the better player for <2M more.

Edit, I see Suh just re-upped in TB for a
Lost Jones, added McCoy, Poe and Dix. Draft a corner and look at things
cj Henderson round 1 and Gladney round 2.

I like the thought of Poe landing on top of Wentz. 350 pounds, that's going to hurt

DT's yes, Safeties :noidea:. I hope I'm wrong about HaHa
There are several safties in this draft that are upgrades over Heath. I like Delpit,Winfield,Davis,McKinney all will be better than Heath. Even Kyle Dugger will be better. If one of them is there in the 2nd or 3rd why not? If you got any of these guys in the 3rd it would be a steal.

This draft is loaded with real good dbs and we need to go ahead and draft two or three in the first 3 rounds. Jeff Gladney would be a steal in round two.

We saw the prior staff never seem to care about safety or NT. This group has already signed one of each before the bottom of the barrel types that the old group seemed to look for. I wouldn't be surprised to see them continue this new strategy into the draft and just draft great players as they see them and no longer ignore certain positions like safety and NT.

We have over $20M still in cap space this year. I wouldn't be surprised to see us bring in another CB before the draft and be able to really go in looking at BPA. RB about the only spot we couldn't use a good player at. If Dak is still unsigned even QB could make sense. A third good WR is still needed and a really good one would allow us to possibly cut Amari after 2 years. Center we need. OG still could perhaps use an upgrade or at least depth. Swing Tackle is wide open and Tyron is constantly hurt. Defense has even bigger holes/needs on all 3 levels. Our one glaring hole is obviously CB so hopefully we bring in a "just in case" type of guy via FA and still COULD go there early and often in the draft but not feel like we MUST go there early and often in the draft...

The Dallas Cowboys continue to fill in the holes on their roster, agreeing to a one-year deal with tight end Blake Bell, a source told ESPN. The Cowboys lost Jason Witten to the Las Vegas Raiders at the start of free agency after signing Blake Jarwin to a four-year deal worth up to $24 million and needed a blocking tight end. Bell, at 6-foot-6, 252 pounds, fits that mold after starting a career-high seven games last season with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Think this is good sign. Today on Dallas sports talk they talked about him starting out at OU as a QB....said he's much more athletic than used at KC. also said he was an accomplished blocker

It sure is and we dont have to worry about Rod drafting prototypes for his failed system.

It's like this team finally sees what their weaknesses were all along. How the Hell can you want to run the ball so much with TEs that can't bock for shit. I mostly know what I read about this guy but this sounds like a huge under the radar type of signing IMO

Cowboys signed TE Blake Bell, formerly of the Chiefs, to a one-year contract.
Heavily used as a blocker for the Super Bowl champs, Bell was in on 483 snaps as an inline blocker while Travis Kelce did a bunch of work out of the slot. Bell, a former fourth-rounder of the 49ers in 2015, has carved out a nice role in the NFL, but he doesn't catch many passes. He posted an 11-91-1 line last season and will fall in behind Blake Jarwin in Dallas.

His ability to block provides a nice complement to the athleticism of Jarwin, which is precisely what he was for All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce.

Ex-Sooners are fine with me. He is a good blocker.
