If you call 3 years a stop gap, then yes. His extension likely 2 years beyond this year with more guaranteed money.

But will his health and level of play be there ? Not so sure

I bench Allen. This is the problem even if RK comes back. We have too many De's. This is why RK or Allen should be traded. Right now the tackles are Payne, Ionman, and Settle. The De's are Sweat, Young, Rk, and Allen. Way too many at the de group.

I thought Balt or Indy were interested in trading for RK last year before trading deadline. Stupid Allen didn't pull the trigger. Even if its for a 3rd. Who cares we have to get rid of him. Even is Allen fetches a 3rd round pick you do it. Heck I would trade both Allen and RK. We could possibly have 3 third round picks and two 4th round picks to go with Young. Plus cap relief from RK and Allen.

allen is a tackle and we have a good rotation with our d/line . dont disagree trading RK . trading allen for a 3rd is a net loss for us because it cost us a 1st to get him

I think Allen can be a De in the 4-3 defense. Of course its going to be a loss but its a must b/c there is a log jam at dline. Cant have 1st round picks coming of the bench.

I would not trade Allen for a 3rd I don't advocate Ironman who has been the best defensive lineman either.
