Yes, I hear you. Me too, I’m still waiting for them to make a big mistake in some way, like cable going out, or some cheerleaders pole dancing for timeout entertainment, but so far everything has been solid.

they presented it right from the beginning. That it’s the same game, just different teams and they’ve stuck with it so far.

but even from the XFLs first stint, the game of football took some things from it to make the product better, like the over hanging camera angles, etc. I think nfl takes some things from this go around too

They have cut back on a number of the gimmicks they used 20 years ago. And actually showing the game this time around instead of the cheerleaders helps.
My one big memory from the first time around was listening to a game on the radio while driving back to my hotel from Daytona. The radio broadcast was like listening to a high school game, then at halftime they announced Earnhardt had died.

Another change from the first stint. I think the demand and acceptance of football 365 is there. Unlike 20 years ago when football was just covered from August-February.

anything outside of that window was seen as Arena Football level. But now with football coverage all year round, the broadcasted senior bowls, under armour games, etc. it’s acceptable to see football being played in spring and summer.

It’ll be big to get a few seasons in to establish some sort of history and attachment from fans to teams
