Calm down faggot, oooh my opinion isn't the same as everyone elses oh no, where's your list bitch?
wow, 2 name callings in one post, and a bitch in the mix!

not in any order

barry sanders
Jim Brown
Sweetness
marshall faulk
Curtis martin or Ladanian Tomlinson to round out my top 5.

i often say martin, because he had 10 straight 1k yard seasons to start his career. his only non 1k season was his last. not many guys have done that, aside form him, that i can think of. also, martin and LT were obviously tremendous pass catchers.

he averaged 5 yards every carry. yeah, he has the most negative runs in the nfl, but that wasnt his fault.
he retired in his prime, at 30, after a 1500 yard season. barry couild also catch the ball (you called him a not complete back). 352 catches over 10 years (35.2 a season). peterson has 289 over 12 and counting. thats about 22-24 a year.

so you call one guy complete (AP) and another guy, incomplete, when one caught about a pass more per game in his career.

both guys couldnt block (or werent required to), and AP had stone hands coming out of college. its why he was a 2 down back mostly.

I think that stat actually works in his favor. To lead the league in rushing AND in yards lost per carry is like being the heavyweight champion of the world with a 50 inch reach.

it kind of amazes me how little credit Eric Dickerson gets. Everyone knew he was getting the ball & still he couldnt be stopped.

You aren't kidding, rushed for 6968 yards his first four seasons, only running back in NFL history to rush for 1800+ in three seasons, only OJ and Barry did it twice. Pretty stupid not to include Dickerson in his top 5. He played with stiff qbs, was the teams offense and still enforced his will

I like the inclusion of Curtis Martin, I find him to be underrated by most. Hey look, I didn't attack your opinion. Where do you have Dickerson and Campbell??

Only in your opinion.

No, 99% of people that watched him play. Not his fault. Like I said, talented, nowhere near the top 10 simply bc he didnt have the opportunity. It’s really too bad

Where would you lost Gore.
Other than 2 season all of the rest he was 60 + % of the total offense production. Reason I say this is because I'd take down AP and add Gore.

Gore is Mr.Longevity, never elite, kind of a robot, you know what you are getting with him

Peterson was a better back, bigger playmaker

We've done these lists many a time and they always turn into a pissing contest between somebody or other because it's always just soneones opinion and everyone looks at different things. The top five or top ten are all so close, any of them can be inter changed depending on what criteria you want to use. For me, I'll do my top 5 more chronological

Jim Brown - best all time by a lot IMO. Just a physical freak
Payton - heart of a lion. Just an amazing will to succeed
Emmitt - closed out games when the other team knew what was coming. Incredible vision
OJ - ran for 2,000 yards in 14 games. Just murdered the opponent
Sanders - most exciting RB ever. Retiring early hurts his all time ranking

Already talked about this. Consistent, yes. Peak, severely lacking. He was never once the best RB in the NFL...that doesn't deserve top 5 or top 10.

AP had a much higher peak and it wasn't even remotely close.

Who knows? All those could apply if healthy. Earl is the greatest of that bunch imo.

I think Marshall Faulk is underrated, he wasn't the best runner (Still great) but having a threat out of the backfield as dangerous as him is what people really underestimate.
