There are two major college sports. Listing hockey and wrestling is a joke.
Agreed, as a Hawkeye fan, I have never bragged about wrestling. Pussies claim titles from 20 years before they were born.

MLB players and NHL players don't make millions of dollars a year? lol

I think Phil Kessel was making somewhere in the range of 8 million a year.

When was the last time a college hockey game had TV viewership > 750,000?

That's YOUR opinion, and I didn't say 9 or 10 each of the next 2 seasons.

And OTHERS in here have listed Fleck among their Top 5 and Top 10.

And unlike some of you, I don't look only at wins and losses. I look at how he's transformed the entire culture. UMn's GPA has risen to record levels as well, and I don't think there has been a hint of scandal since Fleck showed up.

Who besides you has fleck listed in their top 5?

There is no sensible person that could rank a coach without looking at their wins and losses. An you mentioned GPA.....bahahahahahaahahahaahahahahahaha

They exist, they NEVER cease to exist.

UMn was there from almost the beginning.

The FIRST PRO fb player was a Gopher.
The FIRST 3 time All-American was a Gopher.
The FIRST black Big Ten player was a Gopher.
The FIRST black Pro fb player was a Gopher.
The FIRST black All-American at QB was a Gopher.
A UMner/UMn invented cheerleading.
A UMn coach invented the 4 man backfield.
A UMner is, by most, considered the Father of the Modern T.
A UMn coach was one of the first to propose the forward pass and was also one of the first to use it.
A UMn coach and former Gopher was the last person ever to win 3 Natl Titles in a row. 7 total.
A UMn coach needed a World War to end his domination of cfb. He even broke his own winning strk.
Former UMners own BOTH the longest winning streak and the longest unbeaten streak in NCAA history.
A former UMner, when he retired, owned the MOST cfb wins in Div 2.
UMn is the only school to have produced multiple graduates with multiple CFL Grey Cup Titles.
The FIRST black coach to win a Super Bowl was a Gopher.
UMn ranks #1 in the # of former players went on to become NFL Point Leaders.
UMn ranks #1 in the # of former players went on to make the NFL All-Decade teams*
UMn had produced 11 Top 7 Heisman candidates and 6 Top 3 candidates by 1962.
UMn has been recognized as the originator of "the 12th man".
UMn may still rank Top Ten in the # of AP Natl Titles in cfb.
UMn may still rank Top Ten in the # of NFL Hall of Famers it has produced.
I suspect that no other college, cept maybe ND or Yale maybe, has produced at least 5 former players turned cfb HOF coaches. Add to that 1 CFL HOF Coach, and 2 NFL HOF coaches.
I suspect that UMn has produced THE MOST former players who coached in the NFL.
UMn football has also produced a Hockey Hall of Famer, a HOF Wrestler, a cbb HOF coach.

After giving everyone else basically 50 years to catch up, Billingsley still had UMn ranked the 17th best cfb program of ALL-TIME going into the 2019 season.

* - as of the 2000s team, not sure if the 2010 team might have allowed any team to catch up to them?

And cfb is not even our #1 sport, not anymore at least. lol

UMn IS the #1 hockey school in the country, bar none.

UMn has produced 54 Men's Olympic hockey players. 13 of whom won Gold Medals
#2 BU's only produced 32. Only 3-6 won Gold Medals?
#3 UND has only produced 27, half of what UMn has. Maybe 1 or 2 have won Gold Medals?

UMn's women's team is #1 in # of Titles, Title games, Frozen Fours, NCAA tourney invites and # of players sent to the Olympics and with Gold and Silver Medals.

And just for sh1ts and giggles, UMn wrestling has also produced a Nobel Peace Prize winner credited with saving at least a billion lives.

The overwhelming majority of us couldn't care less about college hockey. You're wasting characters by mentioning it.

Similarly, I could talk about Oregon's cross country dominance. No one cares.

Name me the former Oregon cross country or track star that went on to make millions of dollars a year competing in their sport?

Do they show cross country or track meets on TV every night for several months in a row?

TBH, I've never looked for college hockey on TV. I imagine they show the Frozen Four, and maybe have some programming on Espn the Ocho, but the ratings must be incredibly poor if it is shown at all.

As for Cross Country stars at Oregon making big bucks, I suspect that they earn no less than what college hockey players at Minnesota are making.

If you are bound and determined to compare PROFESSIONAL salaries, then certainly tennis and golf stars have incredible earning potential, but again, no one on this board cares.
