Well I would say that the cap stays the same so the average pay is the same and yes the rich get richer and the slightly less rich get slightly less rich but the fans win. Its similar to the NHL except no hard cap it forces equality
Your math doesn't work unless you are going to remove minimum salaries as well.

You cant have a 126 mil cap, Give your star 60 million and split the remaining 66 on the other 14 guys without someone playing for free.

Could you imagine guys playing buddy ball, signing for 50k, just to get a ring?

Sure, this would totally benefit big market teams because guys can make the money back on endorsements.

Teams like Minny would go under.

I never said 60 million first of all but lets be clear these team have cap specialists and if the Lakers and Clippers paid Lebron and Kawhi 50 million each they could certainly field a decent team it just would not involve another max player which mean those max player would all play elsewhere

Minny would be paying the same amount as far as cap dollars but they would not have paid Wiggins like he was a top 10 talent but more like top 50

The NBA cap has exceptions for injuries first of all. Second given you can go over the NBA cap when you hold bird rights it does not matter. Are you telling me you feel bad for the dubs. it evens the pack. the dubs this year look like the hornets do most years. Teams will teach themselves discipline if they overspend on one player.
So, no?

You didn't know or didn't take it into consideration.

Read it for yourself.

You've probably heard by now that the Warriors face the dreaded "hard cap" this season, which means they cannot -- under any circumstance -- have their payroll go above $138,928,000.

As a result, they cannot fill their 15th roster spot until March 3.

Why Dubs can't add 15th player to roster until this date

Complex, complicated way Dubs can sign two players in March

They didn't have to pay him.

They stupidly chose to.

In your scenario, they'd slit their throats further by being allowed to give him 40 mil, instead of the sub 30 they are paying him now.

Try to focus on my point. do you think anyone should feel sorry for the warriors. do you think the warriors got there by doing exactly what I am pushing should not be allowed being multiple max contracts.

Yes of course the average would stay the same if you have the same cap and the same amount of players. That's basic math. But the dis proportionality of the contracts at the top leave less room for those at the bottom. The averages for the rest of the team would be dramatically less with a no max.

If this system is in place the warrior never would look like they do now let alone sign DLO instead of 2 other players that even them out.

I just pulled a number out of my ass.

Never attributed it to you.

You are saying remove salary slots.

That means a team can bid as high as they want.

A desperate franchise would ruin itself.

Again: Your math doesn't work because you aren't adjusting the salary cap.

...and puhlease....

Clippers have only been well run the last 2 Seasons.

They would have been a overpaying shitshow like everyone else if it werent for West, Frank.

I agree completely that would happen it has happened in the NHL but all teams can compete entertain their fan bases and increase league revenue in the seats and on tv

I am not knocking the clippers at all they are very well built even before Kawhi and they did what everyone else would have I am just saying if Kawhi could get 50 mil last season the whole NBA would be better off.

Yeah, and what I'm saying it's a pipe dream to pass that in the CBA. The Players Association would have to approve this as well, and they wouldn't because this only benefits ownership. It doesn't benefit the players overall at all.

I disagree attendance is weak, viewership is weak. the cap is based on revenues. Increase the competition and increase the revenues. revenues are shared based on the CBA
