From what I've read and heard, the Lakers haven't put him out there at all. Teams have been contacting them and they've been listening. Which they should do.

The funny thing is, the better he plays, the more tempting the offers will be come and the less the Lakers will want to trade him. lol
According to Lakersnation.com - The Lakers contacted the Sacramento Kings and initiated the discussion of what they could get. They aren't actively trying to trade him - just seeing what they could get. Bogdan - supposedly is a sharp shooter the Lakers are looking for - they were looking for a better point guard then Rondo who's game until tonight has declined - but LeBron want's Kuzma to stay - so there is that. I think Kuzma will be on trial up until the trade deadline - more or less - but tonight made a great case to keep him

Nah.

You don’t think the Lakers willing to pay some luxury tax?

He will be an RFA. They can easily keep him. It just won’t be cheap.
If the Lakers are getting to the finals again - they won't care about luxary taxes and yes - they will pay to keep him. Besides that Kuzma is 1.6 million this year and 3.5 million next season with a qualifying offer for the 21 to 22 season for 5.5 million. Bogdan from Sacramento already makes 8.9 million - so if salary and luxary taxes is an issue - wouldn't make sense to me to trade Kuzma who has averaged 12 ppg, 3.7 rpg and no assists for a Bogdan who is marginally better at 14.5 ppg, 3.0 ppg and 3 apg. That would be swapping 5.1 million for this and next year for a player that is 17 million for the same two years -and I don't think the Lakers would improve that much if at all - other then getting another guard. I think those that are saying the Lakers need to trade him are off base

In a way, it actually makes more sense to trade him once he has a larger salary. With the team being over the cap and thus having to match salaries, him having a bigger number means its likely they could get two, possibly three lower salaried role players for him. With all their cap tied up in Davis and James and no draft picks for awhile because of the Davis trade, that'd be a good way to get some more bodies to fill out the roster. He's so low on the salary scale now though that you actually have to attach another player to the deal just to move him.

So if the Lakers don't want him long term, to me it makes more since to sign him and trade him next season or do a sign and trade this summer. In the short term, just keep him on the team. The move they need to focus on right now is signing Darren Collison

@dtgold88

I know he hasn't shown it often and Sexton hit those HUGE threes...

But, others are starting to see it too.

You guys may very well have 2 outstanding starting guards on the roster and I'm still very high on Porter too.

You’re the future point guard of this franchise,” Thompson said of his message to Garland. “You’re the head of the snake of this franchise for a long time so you have to come and be ready.
Put your chest on the line and make shots. Really want to say something else, but it’s not for TV.” So what was the uncensored version? “You gotta let your nuts hang,” Thompson told Garland.

The clock expired as Kevin Love started making his way onto the court. He immediately found rookie Darius Garland, gave him a big hug, chest pound and pat on the head. Then Love shared a message with the rising rookie. “Just told him I was really proud of him,”

“He’s just been getting better in those moments. He really has a chance to be a special player. Tonight he showed that.”

Would be hilarious if the Cavs players all came out for warmups at their next game wearing slug life t-shirts.
It would be perfect...lol

I actually bought a Hug Life T-shirt from Wal-Mart a couple of years back.

It's a big hit Every time I wear it.

I guess @flyerhawk needs to update our outlook for the future

I agree, Porter jr was looking good before he got hurt. I haven't watched the Cavs all season, but they have been weird. Sometimes they look great, and then they go on long stretches looking like complete crap. I think it's because they are so young.

How do you know how they have looked if you haven’t watched them?

Then again, even if you had watched them, I still doubt you would know. Because that would require and open mind and some common sense.

I'm ok with that also.
I've never seen Wilson live.
Mahomes/Wilson would be fun.

I know I'm a Seahawks fan and therefore have a certain amount of bias...but Russell Wilson is ridiculous.

And yeah, Mahomes/Wilson would be very entertaining.

Unfortunately, I think we're probably getting Mahomes/Garropolo.

Oh, I read what you wrote. Pretty clear really.

And Please find the quote where I said that. Never happened.

What I did say is that the Cavaliers played more as a team and played better defense with Delly instead of Irving. And despite the massive talent gap, the actual result for the team isn’t nearly what it should be.
