Ok, with Moore out, anyone hearing any other names? Rumors?

Moore is staying at Dallas and McCarthy is likely going to be the play caller.

Come on lake, find someone with experience that has the same fire you do.

I haven't seen any rumors on twitter about a possible OC target! Damn Dawgs are very good at keeping a lid on things.

I was thinking in the back of my mind that if the current OC didn't take the job at Whoregon he would possibly interview here, ( again keeping it in the family!)

Nope done with that shit!

You recruit 4* 5* QB's get their asses on the field and develop home grown talent!
Im tired of seeing these kids transfer, let a serious competition play out and declare a starter!
Transfers are the new reality. Every program better have a team watching the portal and working it daily. Half the playoff teams had a transfer QB. You can't handicap yourself by only using recruiting.

If we have a chance to improve with lake over Petersen it will be from being more aggressive in recruiting and looking for every single chance to upgrade.

You won't make the next level without it.

Yes but a QB and his receivers need the time to grow together, there has to be trust for a QB to put the ball in a certain part of the field and his wideout goes up and makes a play on it. Everyone here bitched and moaned about the drops from the receivers, hell at one point there was talk from the receivers to the media that Jacob throws the ball to hard, ( if they had actually spent time working on routes with each other they would have progressed a lot better then what they did)

Again half the teams in the playoffs were there with transfer QBs. You take every opportunity to get better at every position. I'd rather have an upgraded QB and go through the growth needed than have a QB everyone is comfortable with that has flaws that bite us regularly.

Well this guy has been all over the place.
The biggest red flag was he was fired from Penn ST where he was OC,
Going through some articles it basically looks like he was fired as a scap goat.

Oh well. I trust Lake knows what he’s doing, until results show otherwise. I suppose.

Yeah I'm not going to judge based off some idiot Penn St fans running their mouths.
I want to see the product on the field, ( see Sark for example of coaches learning as they are fired)

What the fuck is “assistant running backs coach”? Is that like, running backs coach, who is obviously an assistant coach on the staff because he’s not the head coach? Or is it like assistant to the running backs coach?

Yeah, NFL experience is good to have. Getting fired in the past isn’t necessarily a red flag. Tons of coaches go on to do great things after being fired from jobs.

It’s just not an exciting hire, which also isn’t a bad thing. Just doesn’t give us degenerates much to gossip and be all giddy about.

You can't have a first year HC with only defense experience and win without an OC that can entirely take over that side of the ball. Who knows if this is a good fi . But at least he has experience and can manage that unit. Remains to be seen if he can run a dangerous offense or not.

It is comical, but it also is one of the best jobs in the world cause you really can learn so much in those meetings and come up with your own playbook based off of other coaches experience plus getting an idea how defensive coaches think out their attacks with blitzs
