The key to the Cowboys winning is to not believe in them. They play their best football when no one gives them a chance, but the moment people start believing they mail it in.

With that said, I don't see them winning another game this season.

I have blindly picked them in the pickems until today. Maybe I should have been picking against them all year.

I said it after last weeks game and I'll say it again...number of carries matters. It set's up everything from explosive play action to keeping the defense off the field and rested, and it cuts down on the drive killing sacks, holding calls and turnovers. Keep pounding the rock and we could be a Hell of a scary draw for anyone

When the running game works like yesterday you use it all day long. When it is being stonewalled you throw the game away by continuing to run into a brick wall and putting your Offense in long yardage holes. I was surprised to see this stat from yesterday:

Now of course it's a little misleading because you would have to add Pollard's 1st down touches to be fair, but I was still surprised by this in a blowout. I would have thought over 75% with the way the game was so out of hand and how well we were running the ball.

Just agree to disagree on one point. If the run game is getting stoned, and we just abandon it in close games, we lose. It happens over and over again. We're losing by 5, Zeke gets two second half carries, we throw every play, rack up yards and get blown out

Actually we don't really disagree on that. You never abandon the run completely until the clock forces you to do so. We just can't keep running the ball like it's working when it isn't on certain days. I think it's an example of the in-game feel for the game that Garrett doesn't have. I think it is hard for him to go against what he planned all week based on what is actually happening in the game. You need to be able to do both.

Putting Guns on ignore was the best thing I've done on this board.

You are absolutely 100% correct. Zeke gets that offense going and he proves it time and again. Controlling the clock on offense keeps our defense fresh.

The Cowboys board has a lot of guys who are smart about football and love the Cowboys. We all don't agree all the time but that's alright

Not adding up: Brian Schottenheimer's rule of 53

"Now we’re back to familiar territory. One of the earliest contributions of the football analytics movement was debunking Run To Win, the idea that the positive correlation between rush attempts and winning means that teams should make an effort to run the ball more throughout the game. In fact, Football Outsiders was founded in 2003 to negate this very idea. In the introductory piece that launched the site, founder Aaron Schatz wrote that “more rushing attempts early don’t indicate a winning team, but rushing attempts late do.”

Wait, you think attempting logic will work on someone who doesn't know where he lives of what team he likes:noidea:
