Could see that one challenged in court.

I could see a federal EEO violation, an NCAA Title IX violation, or both.
IMPEACH!!!

I haven't read the EO, so don't know 100% WTF I'm even talking about. They said it on CBS during the coin toss and didn't give specifics.

Let's say a (football player) cadet pilot wants to go work for United Airlines instead fullfilling his obligation to the military?

Why does a guy going NFL (private sector) have the benefit over a pilot wanting to go United Airlines (private sector)?

Ummm, During the Obama administration, military academy athletes were able to go right into sports after graduating if they were granted reserve status.

So it's not like this is out of the blue.

Don't recall any challenges to it

And they still have to fulfill their requirement after their pro career.

I think they still have to complete their required service, it's just deferred until after their pro career. Might be able to serve concurrently, too.

I'm sure the EO is available online.
I'll try to remember to look it up later. I'm about 5 wheat beers into this Army/Navy game.
It could make for a good thread.

I will say I’ve worked with officers from both schools, pretty solid. Can’t say the same for VMI or citadel. God help you if you get an Aggie.

Well I'd like to see it before making judgement.

If one plays football for the academy and graduates with an engineering degree, why can't he go to work for Raytheon straight out of the academy instead of going active duty? Seems like a great way to lose a bunch of officers.

As I SAID, been done under Obama.

And they are still required to fulfill your service after your sports career.

Hell of a lot of difference...not like that job with Raytheon is going to go stale but pro athletes have a limited shelf life.
