49ers D held Bmore to 20 when their avg. is around 34. They care about points then all yards. Not just rushing yards. and not just QB rushing yards as they held Ingram under 4 per.

My point is I would not have been looking to criticize the 49ers defense for anything in that loss. I'd be more inclined to say overall they did a hell of a job and also credit the ravens' defense.

We won't ever know because they couldn't.

You are giving San Fran credit for holding him below his norm in total yardage.

I'm applying that same logic to support my claim that he ran all over them.

You introduced the points and total yardage.

My argument was specifically about his rushing.

So, if they excelled at keeping his total yards and points down, they failed at keeping him at his average on the ground.

Sure, they did much better than most.

But, they lost and that makes them the tallest midget.

I think he had some serious confidence issues.

Always thought he was playing pretty well in Utah, improving most years.....then just lost confidence here, I suspect in Lebron's shadow and the pressure.

Love hasn't been great since a strong start, but think he might be hurt some. Hard to know if he'd sit as much if they needed to win. If he's really hurt might make another team think twice about taking on his salary.

Portland does seem like a decent fit and, yeah, I suspect if they move him it's to trim future salary, so an expiring Whiteside would certainly be in play.

Another guy I suspect will come available if his team is floundering...

Aldridge.

I would probably lean towards a healthy Love over Aldridge.

But, as you said, he might be gimp and that's a lot of money left on his deal.

While you mentioned how awful the 6.3 ypc is and how it compares to leading rushers (never mind in 4 of last 5 games he was well above that mark), where do you think holding him to less than 5 yards/pass ranks compares to the worst passers?

and, yes, they care most about the W or L, but SFs offense has something to do with that....and I guess I just found it strange you chose to rip an aspect of the SF D that held Bmore to 2 TDs under their avg., while letting the SF offense skate while scoring 12 points under theirs. Or something completely different.....CREDITING and not blaming. Like offering props to the Baltimore defense for limiting SFs offense well below their avg.

I find the total yards argument to be valid for most NFL Quarterbacks.

But, not Lamar.

Outside of maybe Michael Vick, has there ever been a QB whose ability to run is so much more deadly than his ability as a pocket passer?

He has improved dramatically as a passer this year.

Well, we already know the outcome.

San Francisco is allowing 134 passing yards a game, which is insanely good in today’s pass happy climate. They are also averaging about 116 yards rushing allowed.

Wind conditions on Sunday made throwing the football very difficult. The Ravens rushed for 178 yards while the 9ers sold out to stop the run.

Yes, it was far below the Ravens averages for their normal offensive output. Also was above the 9ers average for total yards allowed on a day where the weather was not conducive for offensive football.

Say what you will about the word choice. You guys are arguing semantics. The Ravens won largely because of Lamar Jackson’s rushing.
