I have attended college games in about 20 stadiums. The Nebraska fans were great. Passionate, very nice to us.... great football venue.

Two years...but we ain't trending up whatsoever.

We've been "rebuilding" all but a few years since 1960.

True but certainly you have to see if you can hit a year 3 breakthrough

He probably needs to hit 4 wins to make it next year

We really haven't even been competitive in many of the games.

True, but I think you guys are going to need to show patience in order to attract candidates. Don't want to set the impression that they're canned if they can't improve before a full group of their recruits grow up

Very true.

We just didn't make a good hire this last time IMHO.

Yeah, but sometimes you can just see it with your own eyes, no improvement, wondering WTF.

It's hard

I'll bet the attendance for the final game Saturday afternoon against the Hooters is in the 100s, not the 1,000s. And that's on Senior Day.

Friends of mine in EP tell me they've lost the few supporters they did have.

After things had tanked under the previous regime it was definitely a bad time to make the wrong hire. I think your head coach will have to make sweeping staff changes this year to try to improve things.

You guys need to find someone who will a wide open offense, seems you guys haven't gone that route lately which I think is a mistake in Texas (even in the furthest Southwest portion of the state)

I'd say Jeremy Pruitt is off the hot seat. Not that I think he was ever gonna be fired this year, but with the way the season started, next year would have probably been make or break for him had he not rebounded to likely win 7 games.

Thanks for noticing that team across Georgia's northern boarder. Pruitt was never really on the hot seat. Fulmer hired him. Pruitt was going to get 4 seasons barring cause per contract. One, because he's Phil's pick. Two, because Tennessee is still cash poor from prior idiocy, and Pruitt's buyout is weighted in the first 4 years. True, the media was trying to see fire under Pruitt's chair, and the fans were howling after GSU, BYU, and Florida, but those maintaining perspective knew Pruitt wasn't going anywhere.

Ray Tanner (AD) came out and said he supports his HC
Usually, the kiss of death, but Ray is scared of Will's stare. :heh:

they are raising holy hell around here.
Fuck 'em. Capons crow, but they've no seed to sow.

Muschamp must remain at SoCar and establish a multi-year streak of losing to Tennessee. So let it be written, so let it be done!

We've never had a head coach with that pedigree. And you are right, in Texas high schools there are 100s of versions of wide open offenses. They all started from the Hal Mumme influence but they've taken all kinds of twists.

I'm pretty sure it is going to take the types offenses/defenses that kids want to play in to attract some decent recruits. And if we are going to recruit in Texas, we need to go that direction. We also need assistant/head coaches that are good enough that we know won't be able to keep them. Just the nature of the beast.

I still like Frost as a head coach. He had nothing really to work with. I think it actually fair to give him up to 6 years.
So give frost 6 years even without a sign there is much improvement, but can Cristobal after two years despite the program improving and red hot recruiting?

Seems legit.

Dave Doeren at NC State is suddenly on the hotseat

They've regressed pretty badly this year and losing to Georgia Tech was a bad loss, along with them failing to be competitive in a lot of losses

He did have one of the betters runs in NC State history which might allow him to survive, but there's also the feeling that they could have done more because in each of those seasons they took questionable losses. Then there's Mack bringing new optimism to North Carolina, Clawson has things going at Wake Forest and Drinkwitz is a couple fortunate results from bringing the guys from across the state (Appalachian State) to a NY6 bowl

Losing 41-10 to Mack Brown and UNC right now

yikes

Feel like UNC is going to make a decent leap next year

Big time, they're one of the few programs in the conference trending upwards

Came close in a lot of losses this year and was really the only team to put up a fight with Clemson
