I don’t know about dumping Zeke. I think it goes hand in hand with them two. I doubt teams are stacking the box vs Pollard or Alfred Morris or whoever. Zeke does at times look like he has lost his burst but he is still a really good back. He has had two subpar weeks after 3 straight 100 yard games. Not many backs are going for 100 anymore in a game. The catch he made Sunday on the screen pass was great.
What confuses me is this idea of teams stacking the box to stop Zeke the last two weeks. It just isn't true. Yes they are stopping him but I posted something the other day where Minny very seldom had 8 in the box on Dallas run plays and really didn't even have 7 in the box as many times as usual IIRC. They just won the battle at the LOS. I didn't see any stats for Det but It seemed as if they played it the same way.

On your main point. I agree. Zeke is still a great back. I don't blame him for the poor performances. I blame the OC for not realizing in 4 Qtrs what the rest of us realized in about 2 or 3 series. The run game just wasn't working that day. Change up the formations/scheme or stop calling run plays so often

It just seemed like the Lions LBs were jumping the run every time. #40 especially. He didn’t care if it was play action or not , he wasn’t too interested in coverage. As far as the Vikings , I heard that safety’s name less than I ever have. He is usually all over the place. You are correct though, our OL seems a lot more finesse right now than power. I know u didn’t say that but they are getting whipped. Atkins and Harrison are a nice tandem in the middle of the Lion D.

Harrison was the guy I wanted when he went to the Giants and then again when the Giants unloaded him.

Zeke is more concerned about TD celebrations, nose studs and shit.

First play yesterday he coughs up the pigskin.
he's 3rd in all-purpose yards and has 2 fumbles in 222 touches...that isn't chopped liver regardless of what he does after the whistle blows or what he puts in his face

If was dump Dak or dump Zeke, Zeke goes in my opinion. Zeke is much easier to replace.

If it's a choice presented to me between Zeke and Dak, Zeke goes.

Can't you still do that? It's just not a pony tail anymore, but either a mass of dreads or unkempt hair.

I just had a look at you may be correct.

I thought for sure they had changed it.

It's not like tackling a guy by the mid back jersey. They are attached to the head and might even be more dangerous than grabbing by the back of the collar as it would snap the head back as well.

NFL Sunday preview: Hair tackles could be banned next year

Luckily we don't have to make that choice and can keep both

I like the guy, but seems like his best games statistically were against awful defenses (NYG, Washington, Miami, Detroit) or in losses while attempting futile comebacks.

Tag is virtually guaranteed at this point, unless he settles for a team-friendly contract (doubtful).

Team friendly contract with the Patriots?
Watch the handshake with Bill after the Boys, Pats game.....

I thought Dak hadn't signed yet plus all the other re-uppers could cause issues.
No chance. Issues don't keep you from singing your Franchise QB when you have no other option

Yeah and that is the case with most QBs and why those teams are considered to have awful defenses :noidea:

Give dak the Browns schedule against a ton of tough defenses and he doesn't look the same as he does against NY, Washington, AZ.

And, yes, I said the same of Baker last season....he played well against bad defenses but they need to start playing well against the good ones...other than garbage time.

Not so sure about that. It's not like he is just doing OK. Guys put up 400 yards 3 times and 393 another. Last week he put up 444 on Detroit. Before that game they were giving up 271. That's 63% more than they were averaging. He didn't just put up numbers on a bad D, he put up more yards against them than anyone else did. My guess is he has done that in a 3rd of his games. It's not like the stats don't count because they were against Detroit. Put it this way, if he puts up 250 yards against NE that would be 100 more than they are averaging. That would be good even though 250 yards isn't anything great.

The only team he hasn't passed for more yards against than their average was NO. He threw for 223 and their average is 233

I am not saying Dak is not a very good QB (said so in my first comment). But not really debatable his best games were against awful defenses with a few other nice games statistically making futile comeback attempts.

If he puts up 250 against NE I would consider it a very nice game....unless most of the yards were in a futile comeback attempt.

edit: here it is:

As I was watching the last two games and the announcers kept saying the plan is to stop Zeke, I kept looking for the heavy loaded box and nothing.
