You don’t have to have every skill to be a great player as long as you are great at the things you do. The same applies to head coaches. Phil didn’t need to be a great X and O guy to be a great head coach.

He was a great head coach regardless of what you care to believe.

You don’t spend most of your adult life coaching and playing in the NBA without knowing Xs and Os. He simply recognized it wasn’t his strength so he hired assistants who were better with Xs and Os than he was and he delegated to them.

Yep. On a sports board, having a little integrity is probably the main way to avoid being a clown. All we know about each other is what we type, so for a guy who fancies himself a sports expert to change his story whenever the players or teams involved change is the height of clowniness.

Crazy game @ San Antonio tonight... the Spurs are hitting >50% of their 3's... and they're still getting blown out by the C's.

It's inevitable... The Celtics are a top-4 team in the much stronger East, while the Spurs are a playoff team in the West, which wouldn't have a chance to make the postseason if it would be in the East...

If the Bucks, the Clippers, the Celtics, the Heat and the Raptors were in the West, there would only be space for three of the West teams to make the postseason...

Yesterday the East's worst team by quite a margin (the Knicks) blew the Mavericks (a team favored to be in one of the lower playoff seed in the West) apart in Dallas...
