lol real simple. Against the spread is totally different.

I'm never accepting a straight up bet when the Heat are on the road facing a team that's much better than they are. Now if this was in Miami, I likely would have took it because it is easier to beat the top dogs in your home.
Never? In fact, I have placed bets I hoped I would lose. Was a remaining entrant in a Survival Pool the Year Steelers were playing Seattle. 11K in the pot (entered with a friend). We had Steelers and hedged our bet with a bookie and took Seattle so we'd get something if Steelers lost.

Yes....I profited off having to cheer for the Steelers. Still feel dirty about it.

The Lakers should have lost to the Mavs and they couldn't play around with the Clippers like they did the Bulls last night and expect to turn it on in the 4th quarter.

Howard's, if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying, hold is on the refs and Luka looking concussed is part of the game , Shit happens.

Lebron has been magnificent. But, he will be absolutely washed if he has to play 35 minutes a game for the Season.

The Suns beat a fully charged Clippers, with Kawhi, from pillar to post.

We got beat.

The other loss, I shrug off with no Kawhi.

So, yeah....

I still think the Clippers are better....Right now.

Philly, Clippers, Lakers....in that order.

Well, you could argue that Luka shouldn't have been in the game at all down the stretch, which would've cost the Mavs several buckets IMO. Kuzma finally started looking useful late in the game last night (from what I could see, my NBATV keep pixellating and dropping out....arggghh), so that's one more step in the right direction. Not having Bradley hurt some last night. Both the Clippers and Lakers should continue improve as the year goes along (barring injuries of course).

I haven't seen Philly play yet, but would have the Lakers closing in on the Clippers as they play more together and get familiar.

wait a minute......we don't play the role of In the Moment Guy in blowout losses?

I kid....I kid. Sort of.

Every game is 1/82.
Me, stating the Heat has some nice young players, doesn't mean I think they will all have great games every night or that the Heat is going to be some 50+ win team.

As I posted at the time, the best trades are when both GM's can go to the owner and say "We won that trade".

Pelinka can say that the Lakers won the trade because they got AD, kept Kuzma and didn't have to take on Solomon Hill's contract.

Griffin can say the Pels won the trade because they got several talented young players who are used to playing together. With Zion, they should be very good in a couple of years.

Before that couple of years though, they will have decisions to make on those young players (and those young players will need to be retained if they break out). That's always going to be a problem in New Orleans unless they can get over the hump and be a contender.

I hear what you're saying, but the comeback actually started with him AND AD on the bench. big part also was Kuzma finding his game...

was just giving some cred where it was due. Mostly because our bench NEEDS to step up on the kinda nights that we were having...

Man, I was so frustrated with Kuzma early. He seemed to be the starting point of multiple Bulls runs. Glad he seemed to click the second half; hopefully they can build on that moving forward.

Going off on a tangent, some of these guys with their distracting hair styles need to be regulated somehow lol. How can anyone concentrate with Coby's puff bouncing around and distracting the eyes?

Meh....

Kuz will be a factor. Bradley is on his last legs.

It's way early.

But, outside of Green, LeBron, Davis and eventually Kuz, your roster isn't very good.

Again: It's early.

But, if LeBron has to play 35 mins a game to squeak by the Bulls, I'm comfortable saying the Clippers are currently better.

As for Philly, both LA Teams could be fighting to see who will be the last loser.

They can match both teams on both sides of the floor.

Getting passed each other, and then Philly, might actually come down to who gets Iggy.

It would give you another much needed perimeter defender and bench scorer, ditto for us.

But, more importantly, we'd keep him away from you.

Lmfao

His hair?

Really?

Have you forgotten Turiaf was on your roster back in the day?

If Elfrid Payton didn't get regulated, nobody will.

Just imagine getting tickets to the Bucks-Clippers game weeks ago and Kawhi sitting out for no reason now

Am I reading this right? Kerr had "average talent" his first couple years?

Not sure how this is me missing the boat with anyone. Never said not easier to coach with lower expectations.

No you aren’t.

I said he took a team with good talent and brought them over the top.

And based on your evaluations of Klay and Dray in the past, kind of shocking that you are simultaneously knocking Kerr’s accomplishments in helping them develop.

Which is it?

You have said that all 3 of Klay, Dray and Kerr are overrated. I am not sure how you can knock the players and question their talent, then also say the coach should win because he has elite talent that any coach could have won with.

Probably should also minimize a title some when each time it was done with arguably the best player in the game. Maybe the best 2 at times.

If he managed to win 3-4, with that talent I might agree.

But he won 11. 11.

And he almost beat the Knicks in ‘94 without MJ. Should have beaten the Knicks if not for 1 blown call. And the Knicks later took the Rockets to 7 games in the Finals.

Larry Brown has 2 championships.

Agree. That's why I don't rate his coaching, at least the X's and O's part, that high.

He got MJ to buy into trusting his teammates, he got Kobe and Shaq to co-exist longer than probably anyone else could have and he got Kobe to trust his teammates (once he had teammates that he could trust) in his 2nd stint.

But when it came to actual X's and O's, that was always more Tex Winters than Phil.

Eh.

Irrelevant.

Because Phil was smart enough to know what his strengths were. He had good X and O people under him and he let them do their jobs.

The total package was good enough to win 11 titles in 20 seasons.

That is insane.

Have I ever said Klay and Green are not very good player? Klay is all star caliber. Green still a very good player. Just because I don't think he's better than Love doesn't mean I think he isn't very good.

That Curry fellow is decent, too.

And the idea Kerr wins when he has the most talent and loses when he has lesser talent has to matter, no?
