My eye remains on Guzman. He can be invaluable to this franchise if he gets that BA/OPS to a reasonable level and I believe he is the kind of individual who wants to achieve.

he’s the only one of our young crop besides gallo who I still think can possibly pan out. well solak too, but I meant the homegrown guys.

I think eventually he gets pushed aside by someone with a better bat. It won't happen for awhile so he has the opportunity to show something. I just think we will have a better all around player at some point in the future. That is especially true if we sign Rendon, but even if we don't one of our 3B prospects will likely need to move to 1B. Then there is Curtis Terry who is already at 1B.

Most agree but he will surly be busy this off season. He knows his future hangs on improvement.

Do we really consider Chirinos a 'top notch' catcher?.......Somebody who keeps up better than me can address this, but I don't think he's considered a very good catcher. Just adequate, with a bat that seems to come through in the clutch more than most..............I've always thought of him as a good back-up, but not so much more.

As catchers go, he's above average in my estimation, defense is solid and offense is certainly above average for a catcher

He has done it at every level so we will see.

I have my doubts, but I haven't given up on him. If I had to guess, I would say we will have a different 1B in 2022.
