So the NCAA awarded the BCS Championship to the loser of the BCSCG instead of Texas who won? Amazing. I also guess that the NCAA did not vacate all USC wins in 03 …
Texas was 2005

Mr Phil can build a better team with contracts even if they have to wait til after college for the bulk. It doesn't have to be millions for all but something for all since he is already giving to the school to help with faculities and such to improve the team. Now he can improve with direct money.

He could have been paying players years ago , he could have them all getting a Nike paycheck as soon as they graduated.. Nothing was stopping him except he owns a company that outfits many colleges and sports teams. Its not in his interest to stack his college team.

Everyone is talking Phil Knight. There are also T Boone types out there at several schools.

If anyones going to try to flaunt the system it's the places that are football mad crazy that care more about football victories than life itself. So in other words the same schools.
Status quo.

You're still profiting. There will be rules. In the motion picture industry they hold on to a percentage of young actors money and give it to them later. If they set up some rule you can either go by it or not play college football. You guys act like it will be a free for all. 98% of players aren't going to be getting anything to write home about. Like most of you believe , a scholarship is something and most will take just that to go to college and play. Some will be able to make some money during summers and a select few (The Tuas and Hurts and Sunshine types) will make some commercials and endorse a shoe or shampoo.
You’re assuming that boosters aren’t going to care that they can now pay for offensive lineman to come there for cheap because no one is paying them. You are assuming that the NCAA will handle things properly which they have never done in the existence of forever but now suddenly they are going to get their head out of their ass? Not buying it.

Yes except they can legally do it out in the open with no recourse. The division between the haves and have nots is going to be on more steroids than a 1990’s WWF wrestler.

Even in your scenario the same schools will get the same players because they would pay more so the only thing thats changed is more players make more money. Boosters have been paying for years. Now the slime ball boosters are just competing with each other.

Its completely in his interest he gives millions for sports. They do not help his team when they are gone.

He was just one example. There are hundreds that spend money on Alma mater athletics.

Because 2003 and 2004 is correct. You were the dumbass that brought up the year Texas beat USC.

The 03 season had LSU beat Oklahoma ... No PAC school was involved, let alone USC as you claimed. USC played in the 04 season and killed Oklahoma(vacated) and lost the next year to Texas, yet you claim USC was crowned by the NCAA as champions. These were the only two appearances in the BCS by USC so you are off a year AND claim the BCSCG loser was crowned champions by the NCAA.
Let me help you.

Will a player who signs an outside contract after his Freshman year, have a case if he is displaced by and incoming freshman for loss of income/ Workman's comp?
Can a QB sue a lineman for missing a block and getting the QB injured, claiming the block was missed out of jealously. Does the scholarship now become taxable?

Can employer of a player sue if the player transfers and the employer is left with a supply of useless memorabilia.

An now the hidden problem, will an employer pay a coach hidden money to make sure a player is a starter.

Not saying it is a bad idea, but a lot of unintended consequences.

Pay for performance will not be allowed, but I bet the 3rd string QB won't get much in the way of endorsements.

And there are a lot of them out there that are richer than six feet up a bull's ass!

I have to credit any coach that can keep them in check, especially when a team is struggling.

I'll trust the NCAA over any 3rd party sites.

Good lord. Like he couldnt have been telling a kid go to Oregon and even if you dont go pro we will have some cushy job that will pay you 100k for doing nothing for four years after you leave Oregon. Like he couldn't have done that if he really wanted to before all this. You guys act like every player on every roster going to make 100k. You do realize that this money has to be reported to the IRS. You think it's going to be ok with a school and who evers running the show that Billy BoB car salesman cut 30k checks to 10 players? LOL.
George Lucas is a USC grad. Film school buildings. Many Billionaires are USC grads. But we don't care (as a whole) about football like some parts of the country. Those places would be the ones to bend the rules same as they have been. So like I said , the cheaters now will be the cheaters later and any player whos willing to skirt the system would have gone to them anyways.
The main thing this does is allows some players to make money if they are marketable and others to at least work in their desired field when not in school. USC gets a lot of film school
players and they can now work on a show or movie and make some extra cash.

No, my scenario is things stay the same. At least there are penalties. You are suggesting a system which you can pretty much eliminate all but ten programs because no one will be able to compete with them and they never will be close ever again. Having faith that the NCAA is going to do this right is like having faith that the government would be able to handle universal health care without any corruption.

What does the IRS have to do with this? I will help, nothing.

You are missing the point, it wont be cheating. No hiding, no bag man none of that.
