make your list. my opinion still stands...
OK..here's my list of bigger/better players who might dominate TT.

Drummond
Embiid (though he never really has that I can recall)

Neither of these guys are anyone the Lakers would need to worry about until either the Finals or not at all.

Your turn

not sure where you are going with the millions/billions comment, but I wouldn't block you because your comments provide free comic relief.

First it's "why would we help the cavs by taking TT" then when you realize what a foolish comment that is do you own your mistake? Of course not. Deflection here you come. And you make arguably a more foolish comment that LA could not use TT.

listen, little man. you can sit there and argue til you're blue in your sad little mug. i don't want him. and all this "let's get a list of people who disagree" bullshit won't change my mind, OR my stance...

now DO kindly run along. the kids are missing you in the sandbox...:rolleyes2:

Don't even try this bullshit with me. I know a fake concern troll when I see one ("alarming" ). Again, quit crying. No shame in losing a troll battle to me.

If it's a bad pick, that means he should've been drafted later, hence a reach. You really do argue even the most minute point just to keep some hope of saving face, don't you?

Syracuse players in general have not been valuable NBA players. The best one since the 80's seems universally hated these days (Melo). Waiters didn't even start for the Orange (either Boeheim was trying to convince him he wasn't ready, or trying to trigger him to go away lol). He's a reach because of those items, and only Robinson among the top 10 was a bigger flop IMO.
A reach is taking someone earlier than you allegedly could have gotten him. Has nothing to do with how he pans out. Not really debatable.

If he can defer a lot of what was previously on his shoulders to others, he can still be a huge contributor. He's not going to carry a team at this age, and I don't know if he really is comfortable NOT doing things that way. I've said before that what I expect out of Lebron was to lure the right type of players to the Lakers (which happened in earnest this summer), which in turn should lure the next superstar as Lebron's career comes to an end. Playoffs runs will happen, and titles would be great in the interim, but for me it's about the long term more than the short term.
If he can save his body I'm not writing off the idea he could, in fact, carry a team. I get he's getting up there but will only be a couple years removed from doing as much.

So you are worried about all those bigger/better centers who will torture him but can only think of Whiteside?

Promise if I ever tell you there are a number of players who..... if you ask me to list the players I'll come up with more than 1. And, hell, I gave you 2 more.

Lol, so I don't get what you're arguing about. You said he can't be that player, yet he's already done it before, in the exact capacity that you've been altering the argument towards. You're just being argumentative at this point.

And in many of these games, TT was not asked to score as he had Love, Kyrie and that Lebron fellow.

I was under the impression you were saying he needs to be a scorer and I was simply saying I don't think he can have much success on a team who needs him to score....and nor will his team.

No not at all. I'm not expecting him to make a serious leap and now all of a sudden he's pushing 20 ppg. What I'm saying is as a 3rd option he needs to be a reasonable threat to score and produce more there. The last few seasons there's been a decline (as it should have been) in his scoring, because there were better options. What I'm saying is he needs to pick it back up and be aggressive. It's also not about him shooting 3's more or getting open looks, it's about him being aggressive too in getting to the rim. And it's going to be especially true with teams gunning extra hard at Steph and D'Lo on the perimeter this year that he'll need to keep the defense honest and instead of just waiting for them to come off curl, assert himself and take the ball to the hoop.

He needs to average more attempts than 6 a game.

Yeah...you mentioned Whiteside. also been shown this is far from the case and TT more than held his own against him.

Faced Goebert once last year and went for 8 and 12. Goebert was 12 and 7.
Against Jokic, TT went for 10 and 7. Jokic 4 and 6.
Against Capella it was 16-20 (9 offensive for TT) and 12 and 10 for Capella

total is 34 and 39 for TT and 28 and 23 for his opponent.

You were saying?

Deflection here should be priceless. Guess you could go with avoidance. Maybe the old "it's not you it's me?"
