Sounds great.

We make the FG, you lose at home.

I had no idea Jalen Ramsey also kicks FGs. Pretty incredible that adding a CB to a team with Oline and RB problems turns a loss in SEA into some kind of win in your mind.

Man you are making no sense. NFC westers are really scared about this addition. You barely beat us in your own house on a missed FG. Try to keep up with the thread before you go barking

Yeah, it definitely went into the books as a W for Seattle, so I don't know what that game has to do with this thread. Is Jalen gonna help Zurlein out or something?

You're 2 games back of Seattle and 2 1/2 of SF, having lost to both, yet you're crowing about giving up a boat load of picks for a guy who doesn't even help the biggest issues your team has. Just seems like you're compensating.

It's ok, I remember being happy when the Hawks got Percy Harvin too. Worked out great. Zero red flags for either deal.

Desperate? We just landed the best CB in the game. On top of having the best DT in the game. Not to mention a big upgrade for the Rams. Who’s to say a mid or late round 1st rounder is a guaranteed stud? Much less the best at their position in the nfl
yep...desperate.
LA has lost 3 in a row after being NFC champs and have two good teams ahead of them in their division. If only Ramsey played offense. Still not looking so good for the Rams at this point. We'll see soon enough.

Smells like a desperation heave. I don't think their main issues will be solved by 1 CB and that's a hell of a lot to give up.

Plenty of people thought PIT was unwise to trade a potential top 10 to MIA for Minkah Fitzpatrick...I said then I was fine with him being the Steelers 2020 1st round pick.

But this deal...wow! Granted, the 2020 pick is likely to be in the high teens to low 20s, but the GM is putting himself behind the 8 ball. Ramsey is better than Peters, but is he THAT much better? Secondly, the Rams seem to need more than a CB away from the getting back to the SB.

They weren't going to pay Peters to stay this offseason, so he was basically worth a 2021 3rd rounder to them. So, they dump him now, get a 2020 5th rounder (reportedly) and a 2018-drafted LB that they considered drafting. Peters gets the glamour stats (turnovers), but he's not a willing tackler and gambles too much for the big play.

Getting Ramsey is a no-brainer, but expensive. If you think you can get an equivalent in the the latter part of the first round (where the Rams would've been projected if not for their recent struggles), then maybe you don't make the deal, but he's not an every-draft kind of player. The 2021 4th rounder is offset by the 2020 5th from the Peters trade IMO.

My only concern is that they now have to find a LT of the future in the 2nd round or later, unless they think Noteboom will be that guy moving forward (after he recovers from his season-ending injury), even though he had been excelling at G this season with Whitworth still at LT for at least this season (but retirement is coming soon).

Two 1sts and a 4th... lol, gonna be REAL interesting to see how the Rams fit his signing into the books. I guess RIP Whitworth/Fowler. I really don't understand why they'd get rid of Peters (who has been a little lackluster this year but is only 26) and then go all in on Ramsey. The Rams are nearly out of the running this year since everyone knows (except Seattle's D coord Ken failure Jr) that the slightest bit of pressure on Jared Goof results in full meltdown.

Peters is all or nothing as a corner, gambling for big plays and is allergic to tackling. No way would they pay big money to keep him this winter. Whitworth nearly retired this year and is expected to do so this winter. Ramsey is MUCH better than Peters in actual coverage and can take one receiver out of the game.

I'm hoping the Corbett trade pays dividends this year, as the Rams O-line is falling apart (LG Noteboom is out for the season after injuring his knee this past weekend).

McVay needs to loosen the reigns on the offense a bit and allow Goff to change plays at the line when appropriate. Opposing DCs are onto McVay's habit of leading Goff's reads until headset communication shuts off and shift their defenses late accordingly, leaving Goff locked into a play with little chance for success.

Lol at thinking this trade is just about this year. You add great players to your team if you can.
This is definitely ballsy. Got to give up something to get the best CB in the league.

Rams gave up too much.

Anyone think Ramsey will be happy in LA?

Sure, as long as he gets respected. That sideline argument with Marrone was the problem in Jax, they were willing to pay him.

Yes Jalen is much better than Peters. I don’t think the best CB in football is in the next 2 drafts at picks 15-25. Or a top LT for that matter.

Interested to see how the Rams are going to afford him with the insanely high contracts they've given out recently.

Aaron Donald was money well spent, but the Jared Goof and Todd Gurley contracts were absolutely ridiculous.

The Rams have an out on Gurley after 2021, which minimizes the damage there a bit. Goff's annual cap hit actually decreases every year (after next) and the Rams have an out after 2022.

Not for me.

Ramsey is 2009 Revis. He could turn a great defense into an all-time-great defense.

2 pillars like Donald & Ramsey could turn scary, eventually. 2 first rounders, which will be late anyway, aren't a lot to pay for a potential HOF CB. :mad2:

Not sure how they're gonna fit all those guys under the cap, though. Guess Gurley is out this offseason.

Just a point of reference....you do remember the 2017 Jaguars? That 'great' defense that SF rolled over with Garoppolo at the helm? That defense was probably better than whatever this Rams defense will become. Ramsey is arguably the best corner in football - and in this case, I'll say he is - but no way would I want SF to give up two 1st rounders plus for him.

Think of it this way.....when SF faces him...he will get the task of covering....say....Kendrick Bourne or Deebo Samuel or....who cares? He really won't nullify our offense, unless SF flushes out the majority of receivers they have to get a monster, ie a Julio Jones type.

and if some how the rams lose to these "chumps"....you'll disappear as you have with the 3 game losing streak.

but here you are after this trade with your chest pumped out as if this means championship.

we'll see soon enough

Outsiders may not see it, but Peters has been a disappointment. He gets glory stats (turnovers), but gambles too often and doesn't tackle. Rams fans are right to be happy about the upgrade to Ramsey, even if his impact doesn't hit really until next year. Peters and Talib were going to be replaced sooner than later anyway.
