The problem is that the Colts will probably go 5-11 or 6-10 with Brissett.

I know that's the belief and I think they were at least a 12 win team with Luck but I think they are still a 8_9 win team regardless in that division. I just don't see a 6-7 win difference with the pieces they have and the coaching. I could be wrong though. I often am. Cheers @Clayton .

Its kind of a catch 22 for them, though. If the QB class is good, they won't be able to move up unless a GM screws up.

I think a good GM can move up in any draft they want. Snead and Roseman both moved up to 1 & 2 for Goff and Wentz.


They have talent they can move, draft picks and draft space. Colts could definitely move up from wherever they land if they go 5-11 or 6-10 to in order to get their guy. Unless that top team is the Dolphins and they need a QB.

So what is the Colts' cap space with Luck retired? I think Bisset has a couple of years on his rookie contract. Another reason to avoid overpriced characters like Cousins or Crap. They may get a chance to make a decisive move in free agency, but not if they're over committed already.

He is pretty much the complete package. Probably the best QB prospect since Luck.

He would be the #1 pick next year, hands down. Problem is, he's not eligible for the draft until 2021.

They can collect a lot of money from Luck if they want is the short answer. Can and will are different things, however. Semantics aside as to what happens with this year's money, they should have all kinds of cap next year.

We don’t know this. Sudfeld has played really well in every opportunity. He might be the next superstar or complete bust. Reich is familiar with him and wanted him so who knows. He can’t be labeled only as a backup until given a true shot.
