I think it's funny you called Laughlin a "shithole" when it was 20 years ago & all you did was pass through it. What a goofy thing to say.

During the right time of the year (not summer) the riverwalk by the casinos is a nice place to relax & hangout. It's not as hectic & crowded as Vegas either.

It was also hilarious when you said yesterday I spent every weekend down there for 5 years when I went there about once a year.

You acted like it was some great escape for you. I would have thought you would have wanted to go more than once a year since it was so close and you hated the strip so much. And honestly, you had to know I was exaggerating when I said you went there every weekend, it was pretty obvious.

No I didn't act like it was anything, you jumped to your own incorrect conclusion. And who said it was so close? It's about 100 miles away. Not that far, but not exactly right around the corner.

And I'll repeat this again for you. The vast majority of people that live in Vegas don't like The Strip. That place is for the tourists.

Agree....with a slight amendment.

The strip is for tourists, gamblers and the party crowd.

I know people who live there that frequent the strip daily.

All of them fall somewhere in that demographic.

Traveling distance is a matter of perception/perspective.

I lived 78 miles, each way, from my place of employment.

It still wasn't far enough.

I'm not saying change doesn't come from within but the right support system can help keep Dwight moving in the right direction with a positive attitude. You do know that people can have an influence on how a person acts, don't you? Or are support groups and therapists a big waste of time for everyone?
I think he gets it.

This is his very last hurrah.

Probably the best chance to play a meaningful role on a contender since his last Season in Orlando too.

I'm actually more worried about his back.

Dude has load management written all over him.

He played 9 games last year before he had back surgery. The season before, he played 80 games and averaged 17 points and 13 rebounds in about 30 minutes a game.

If he can do anything close to that this season, it will help a lot.

If not, it's a non-guaranteed contract.
For culture purposes, I would have gone Faried.

Embiid is really the only guy you can't get away with going small for stints against.

And, that's mostly because they have Horford too.

Jokic is more of a perimeter 5 and playmaker.

KAT can go dormant for stretches.

I don't expect Whiteside to be a focal point.

Ayton isn't ready for primetime yet and Booker, Oubre gonna limit his touches.

For skill purposes, Dwight is far and away the best choice.

If he's healthy, and true to his word of playing the role of rim protector, rebound shagger, steal.

If not, flush him.

Let me give you some advice. When you jump in to defend Laughlin when I called it a shithole and when you post the statement below, most people are going to assume that you like something about the town itself.

I already said it's a nice escape from crowded Vegas. It's right on the Colorado River. I liked getting outta Vegas & going down there when I lived in the desert.

Now. Have you ever stepped foot in Laughlin?

EVERY title involves a big helping of luck, not just dynasties. That's why it's a little silly to compare players based on rings and so on.

Yeah, never liked the rings argument much just for that very reason.

Yeah, I think he gets it too. He's saying all the right things which is the first step to turning your attitude around and like you said he knows this is his final chance at playing for anything meaningful again.

This Team is not winning Gold.
USA threw together a roster of C list players that has little cohesion.
4 of the guys play on the same NBA team together, that should help some with the cohension part.

What should we call this version of the national team?

Celtics and friends?

The Boston B team?

The Green album?

I agree. But imo, being good enough to make the playoffs would be a mistake given what they're trying to do. It would put them in NBA purgatory. They'd be good enough to be a 1st or 2nd round exit. But couldn't do much to get better.
agree....and don't forget they need to be bottom 10 to keep their pick. A rebuilding team can't afford to lose that pick I don't think.

Yeah, I get it. As a fan you always want to be pulling for your team to win. The couple of years that the Lakers truly tanked...I found myself rooting for them to be good enough that I could see the improvement, but not good enough to win many games. That was a weird feeling. lol
It's definitely tough.....I cannot watch my team and hope they play poorly, but after the game I know a loss was better.

I just think most people don't want to reach for it, most people are fine with other people no matter their race. Maybe I'm naive.
I think you are right. Everyone seems way overblown. I'd say not even 25% are true racists. That's probably very high.

This Team is not winning Gold.

Ankle or not, I was pretty sure Kuzma was going to be the last cut.

The only positive part is they beat Spain and did beat this same Aussie team a few days ago. Had a double digit lead in the 2nd half
