I don't worry much about QB INT's at practice ... they work on different plays to see what they will employ during the regular season. Throws are made at practice that wouldn't be made in a real game. It's more of a plus to see defensive players making plays than holding the QB accountable for these INT's.

Barring injuries, I think Carson will be lights out, and win the MVP this year. He is deter mined to show everybody that this is his team, and injuries kept him from this for 2 years.

Joint practices with the Ravens this upcoming week ... Wentz will get all the work he needs without having the high injury risk you get in the preseason. It's not like the Defensive looks you see in the preseason will be what you see in games anyhoo .. Wentz imo will be just fine to start the season without preseason snaps.

I disagree. That's treating a football player like a doll.

I can absolutely see the other side of it (I'm old school) ... but if we lose Wentz in a meaningless game our season is over. This team is set up to seriously compete for a Championship this year; they are controlling risk till the games really count.

Fully agreed on this. I do get the aspect of feeling like its some kind of coddling....and Wentz won't be ready for regular season. But, if he had a drive this week, a quarter to a quarter and a half next week and Week 4 off (as is tradition) and those reps were against pre-season nonsense already mentioned....how does that make him more prepared?

I am all for bubble wrap this August.

Wentz and the entire 1st team offense need to put some preseason time in. No one wants to see an injury but that is part of football. Working with the first team while having to deal with defenders will help them get ready for the season. I just don't want to hear about a slow start because they didn't have preseason reps together.

2nd week in a row we lose a QB to injury ... I have zero problem sitting Wentz till it counts.

Yeah seeing the younger QB get his reps in now so you can work with him during the regular season at practice

For the most part, I thought Thorson looked pretty ok last nite.

Really like this kid from the vid's I've seen. Athletic and put together. Played mostly RT, but did also play snaps at LT.

Opens up a possible trade. Also, rumor: trade Lane Johnson for Clowney?

Taking a bit of the second preseason game from highlights (because that’s so relevant)

* Defense might be a repeat again this year. If the pressure gets home you’re golden. If not, the secondary could be gashed. It becomes an exercise in bend by don’t break too often. Hope I’m wrong.

* As QB project draft picks go I see what they were thinking on Thorson. He gets the ball out quickly quite decently last night. He also has bad habits that won’t work at this level, much like a draft project QB will have. His lone touchdown throw was way more due to the WR....he badly threw off his back foot.

Preseason football....so....nice(??)

Good move, in case of more injuries. If Thorson gets hurt on Thursday, we'd be down to Greg Ward (WR). When the season starts, before suds gets healthy, and Carson gets hurt. McCown could be decent. Thorson will not be ready to face starting defenses in regular season.

Eagles will not be interested in a Clowney trade. Daeshon Hall has the highest PFF pass rushing rating in the NFL. He looks like a keeper. Add Shareef Miller and Josh Sweat, and i think we have the DE's well covered this year.

I never thought that they would be interested in Clowney.
We'll see if McCown has anything left.

I like this McCown signing. Dude may be old, but he still has a really good arm and still has wheels. He has also always been willing to teach and help the starter. He has a rep as a very intelligent QB and can be like another coach on the sidelines for Wentz. Check out the highlight vid during his time with the Jets ... some very impressive throws in there. I am much more comfortable with McCown going in there than Kessler if Wentz gets banged up early in the season.
