And the never-ending cha cha of optioning and calling up continues...but needed to happen.
Austin doesn't play defense or catch up to enough balls when given the chance to warrant the playing time he would need to get into a rhythm, D Rod needs to figure his Ish out but we can't afford to allow him to do it at the ML level given the current status of the team. Gennett duh, and Duggar can be an asset when healthy.

Not sure we have welcome you aboard. But welcome aboard. May your presence bring good luck to the Orange and Black.

Tyler Austin DFA’d (removed from 40 and 25)
DRod optioned (removed from 25)
Gennett activated (added to 40 an 25)
Duggar called up (added to 25)

Austin has DH written all over his career, and aside from an early hot streak, he has not helped lately.

DRod will be up and down until the rotation sorts itself out

Scooter may be pushing :gaah:, hope he hits well.

DigDug did well last night, they need another OF who can play CF. Can't believe how much they have played Pillar.

Im formerly DreDinis21, just forgot my login info, its been so long. Im no stranger to these parts.
I thought the pic was familiar, and while 8 couldn’t place it, your tone seemed familiar as well.

Welcome back!

Gennett has shown some promise but it seemed a bit early to dump Panik. I'd have rather seen him finish the year with the team and then get non-tendered in the offseason. If Gennett had looked better since his activation, I would have understood the timing of this move better.

This tells me that he refused an option, which is his contractual right.

Too bad, but not totally surprising.

So that opens a 40-spot. I would guess than Bergen will be coming off the IL soon. They might as well try to fill his roster requirements ASAP so they can option him next year as needed.

Farhan Zaidi is pure garbage. He hasn't done one thing I have liked so far. I hope he gets fired. I am sure now he was sent from the Dodgers to fuck over the Giants.

Turning Pom into our 2B of the future sucked?

Getting a sucker team to not only take Melancon and his contract, but to send prospects back sucked?

Getting Dickerson and Yaz and Solano and Gott off the trash heap sucked?

So you wanted Bum traded?

You wanted Joe and Gerber as starting OF?

You wanted .230 hitting no power :gaah: to keep grounding out to 2nd?

I may not agree with all FZ has done, but he deserves the benefit of the doubt. He inherited a gawdawfulmess.

Now, if only he could get some team to take on Longo's albatross, er, contract, and somehow get Posey to actually drive in a run every other week or so, that would be great!

Joe and Gerber didn't get much of a chance. I'm torn on Bum still being here. It will be weird to see him in another uniform. I like him still being on the team. But I wonder what prospects we could have gotten this last month or a year ago last month.

We may never know about the prospects offered for Bum. My totally uneducated WAG is that the offers were few, and they were paltry. If that was the case, there was no NEED to move Bum just for the sake of moving him.

Bum thrives when the games count. And the last several years have been a grind for him injury wise, but also the games haven't really counted late in the season. Bum is a stud in the playoffs, not so much in some meaningless game in April.

I expected maybe a lengthy trip to the DL, but I expected him to be non-tendered in November. Still sad to see.

His deteriorating play meant that there would be no grand send off into free agency but I thought what he did for the org would have at least end time to the end of the season and then the non-tender. This ain't Sabean's show any longer.
