Royals not getting anything at all for Kennedy is bizarre. Their refusal to trade Merrifield is a black mark as well.

Is what it is. Needed pitching and as bad as the guys we got, it is still an improvement. Lightning in a bottle? More like 2 fireflies.

Yes, we got rid of a headcase and acquired another one.

In all seriousness, I think these were good moves. They moved Bauer, who they wouldn't be able to sign and would have had to pay at least $20m in arbitration at the very least next year. They added two potentially very good bats and Reyes is under team control through 2024.

We (Detroit Tigers) did what we needed to do ... the tearing down of the rebuild is over (unless someone wants to take Cabrera 32 Million and Zimmerman 25 Million) off our hand. Now is the time to build the foundation.

Similar spot. With Felix gone after this year pretty much only Seagar and Gordon are bigger money and they are both under 20 mil per year

I think the Dbacks had the second best trade deadline day behind the Astros.

Got a second baseman of the future for, well, nothing.

Got a second baseman of the now for free.

Got 3 decent lottery tickets for a decent 7th inning guy who we got for nothing 2 years ago.

Got a good lottery ticket while dumping a ridonkulous contract.

Yeah. FZ done good...

It could have been a lot better. It could have been a lot worse. At least we made a couple of trades for needed help, unlike some of the rich clubs, and we didn't give up any of our top prospects to do it. One more bullpen arm and a starter would have made me feel better.

The early returns on our acquisitions though...
